According to current regulations, immediately after the release of exam results, candidates can register for a re-evaluation of their 10th-grade exam scores at their exam registration locations.

Which Candidates Get Additional Priority Points for 10th-Grade Admission?
According to the provisions of Article 7 of the Regulations issued with Circular 11/2014/TT-BGDDT (amended by Clauses 3 and 4 of Article 1 of Circular 05/2018/TT-BGDDT, Article 2 of Circular 05/2018/TT-BGDDT, supplemented by Article 1 of Circular 18/2014/TT-BGDDT), the following rules apply:
Direct Admission and Priority Policies
1. Direct admission to high school for the following candidates:
a) Students from ethnic boarding schools;
b) Students from very small ethnic groups;
c) Disabled students;
d) Students who have won national and international awards in culture; arts; sports; or national science and technology competitions for middle and high school students.
2. Candidates eligible for additional priority points.
The Department of Education and Training specifies additional points for each group of candidates eligible for priority points, with the difference in additional points between two successive priority groups being 0.5 points on a 10-point scale, including:
a) Group 1:
- Children of martyrs;
- Children of war invalids with a labor capacity decrease of 81% or higher;
- Children of sick soldiers with a labor capacity decrease of 81% or higher;
- Children of those certified to enjoy policies similar to war invalids, where the certified person has a labor capacity decrease of 81% or higher.
- Children of those active in resistance movements affected by chemical poisons;
- Children of those active in revolutionary movements before January 1, 1945;
- Children of those active in revolutionary movements from January 1, 1945, to August 1945 uprisings.
b) Group 2:
- Children of Heroes of the Armed Forces, children of Labor Heroes, children of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers;
- Children of war invalids with a labor capacity decrease below 81%;
- Children of sick soldiers with a labor capacity decrease below 81%;
- Children of those certified to enjoy policies similar to war invalids, where the certified person has a labor capacity decrease below 81%.
c) Group 3:
- Those with a parent belonging to an ethnic minority;
- Ethnic minorities;
- Students living and studying in areas with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions.
The above-mentioned candidates will be awarded additional priority points for 10th-grade admission.
What Responsibilities Does the Department of Education and Training Have in 10th-Grade Admission?
Pursuant to Article 10 of the Regulations issued with Circular 11/2014/TT-BGDDT as follows:
Responsibilities of the Department of Education and Training
1. Formulate admission plans, submit to the provincial People's Committee for approval, including the following key contents: area, method, candidates, priority and incentive policies, organization of high school admission work.
For localities selecting the entrance examination method or combining examination and review, additional contents include:
a) Exam subjects, exam setting, exam format, exam duration, exam score coefficient, additional points;
b) Organization, tasks and activities, powers and responsibilities of the exam setting committee, examination committee, exam grading committee, and re-evaluation committee; work of setting, printing, and sending exam questions.
2. Guide the admission work for the departments of education and training, and high schools.
3. Issue decisions to establish admission councils; approve admission results of each high school. Receive documents from admission councils, examination councils, and exam grading councils.
4. Organize inspection and supervision of middle school and high school admission work.
5. Archive admission documents in accordance with the law.
6. Perform statistics, information, regular and annual reporting, and ad-hoc reporting on admission work to the provincial People's Committee and the Ministry of Education and Training.
Thus, in the implementation of 10th-grade admission, the Department of Education and Training has the six main responsibilities outlined above.
For localities selecting the entrance examination method or combining examination and review, it is necessary to define the organization, tasks and activities, powers and responsibilities of the re-evaluation committee in the admission plan.
