In Clause 2, Article 57 of the Land Law 2024 regulates the scope and subjects for land inspection and production of land statistics in Vietnam as follows:
Scope and subjects for land inspection and production of land statistics
1. Land inspection or production of land statistics shall be conducted within the administrative units at commune, district, provincial level, and nationwide scope.
2. The timeframe for Land inspection or production of land statistics is as follows:
a) Land inventory is conducted annually, up to December 31 of the inventory year, except for years when land inspection is performed;
b) Land inspection is conducted once every 5 years, up to December 31 of the years ending in 4 or 9.
3. Thematic land inspections are conducted as required by state land management in each period as decided by the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, or the Chairperson of the provincial People's Committee.

4. Activities of production of land statistics
a) Collecting records, documents, maps, and data related to land changes during the inventory period; data from the previous land inspection or data from the land inventory conducted in the previous year;
b) Reviewing, updating, and correcting land changes during the inventory year;
c) Processing, aggregating data, and compiling land inventory tables by administrative units at all levels;
d) Analyzing, evaluating land use status, land changes during the inventory period, proposing solutions to enhance management and improve the efficiency of land use;
dd) Preparing land inventory reports.
5. Activities of land inspection are conducted as follows:
a) Collecting records, documents, maps, and data related to land changes during the land inspection period; records of the previous land inspection results and annual land inventory results during the land inspection period;
b) Investigating, reviewing, updating, and correcting land changes during the inspection period;
c) Processing, aggregating data, compiling land inspection tables by administrative units at all levels; preparing explanatory reports on land use status;
d) Preparing land use status maps; compiling explanatory reports on land use status maps;
dd) Preparing land inspection result reports.
In Clauses 4 and 5 of Article 58 of the Land Law 2024, the activities of production of land statistics are regulated as follows:
(1) Activities of production of land statistics are conducted as follows:
- Collecting records, documents, maps, and data related to land changes during the inventory period; data from the previous land inspection or data from the land inventory conducted in the previous year.
- Reviewing, updating, and correcting land changes during the inventory year.
- Processing, aggregating data, and compiling land inventory tables by administrative units at all levels.
- Analyzing, evaluating land use status, land changes during the inventory period, proposing solutions to enhance management and improve the efficiency of land use.
- Preparing land inventory reports.
(2) Activities of land inspection are conducted as follows:
- Collecting records, documents, maps, and data related to land changes during the land inspection period; records of the previous land inspection results and annual land inventory results during the land inspection period;
