Based on the provisions of Article 30 of the Law on Military Service 2015, the regulation is as follows:
Age for conscription
Citizens who have reached the age of 18 are eligible for conscription; the age for conscription ranges from 18 years to 25 years; citizens who have been temporarily exempted from conscription during their college or university training are eligible for conscription until the age of 27.
According to the provisions of Clause 2, Article 5 of Circular 148/2018/TT-BQP, the regulation is as follows:

a) Children of martyrs, children of first-class war invalids.
b) One sibling of a martyr.

d) Persons working in cypher agencies who are not military personnel or People's Public Security officers.
dd) Officials and public employees, youth volunteers mobilized to work in areas with especially difficult socio-economic conditions under the law for 24 months or more.

When is the 2024 pre-enlistment medical check-up scheduled?
According to the provisions of Article 40 of the Law on Military Service 2015, the schedule for the 2023 pre-enlistment medical check-up is as follows:
Medical check-up for citizens called to perform military service and participate in the People's Public Security Service
1. The Chairman of the district-level People's Committee decides to establish a medical check-up Council at the request of the district-level health department.
2. The Chief of the district-level Military Command issues orders for medical check-ups for citizens eligible for conscription; the Chief of the district-level Police issues orders for medical check-ups for citizens eligible to participate in the People's Public Security Service. The medical check-up order must be delivered to the citizens at least 15 days prior to the medical check-up date.
3. The district-level medical check-up Council organizes medical check-ups for citizens eligible for conscription and participation in the People's Public Security Service; if necessary, decisions on paraclinical tests, including tests for detecting drugs and HIV, to ensure accuracy and responsibility for the results of pre-enlistment medical check-ups.
4. The medical check-up period is from November 1 to December 31 each year. The medical check-up period for the second conscription as stipulated in Article 33 of this law is decided by the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam.
5. Results of health classification must be publicly posted at the headquarters of the commune-level People's Committee, agencies, and organizations within 20 days.
Thus, based on the above provisions, the pre-enlistment medical check-up period will be from November 1 to December 31 each year.
The medical check-up period for the 2024 conscription will be from November 1, 2023, to December 31, 2023.
