The 2023 Vietnamese New Year holiday schedule and the 2023 National Day have been officially approved?
Recently, the Government Office issued Official Dispatch 8056/VPCP-KGVX in 2022 about the Vietnamese New Year holiday and National Day holiday in 2023.
According to that, considering the proposal for the Vietnamese New Year holiday and National Day holiday in 2023, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam approved the following:
- Holiday for Vietnamese New Year from January 20, 2023 to the end of January 26, 2023 and National Day holiday from September 1, 2023 to the end of September 4, 2023.
Agencies and units implementing the above holiday schedule must arrange reasonable work arrangements to handle continuous work, ensuring good service to the organization and people.
- Other weekly holidays, public holidays and New Year holidays shall comply with the provisions of the Labor Code.
- Authorizes the Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to announce the Vietnamese New Year holiday and National Day holiday in 2023.
Thus, cadres, civil servants, public employees and employees are entitled to an official Tet holiday of 07 days.

On November 18, 2022, the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam issued Directive 5706/CT-CHK on strengthening aviation safety assurance and service quality to better serve the travel needs of people in association with COVID-19 prevention and control during the New Year and Vietnamese New Year in 2023.
According to that, in Section 1 of Directive 5706/CT-CHK in 2022, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam requires airlines and maintenance organizations to do the following:
- Require pilots, flight attendants, and aircraft maintenance staff to strictly follow standard operating procedures approved by CAAV.
In which, focus on pre-flight preparation to ensure all necessary information for the flight; coordinated cross-checking of important information during flight; comply with regulations on aircraft operation in adverse weather conditions (severe wind, gusty wind, side wind, tailwind, heavy rainstorm, sudden decrease in visibility...) at airports and aerodromes.
- Develop a plan to increase flights, especially in the peak period, and arrange flights to operate at night to meet the travel needs of the people on the basis of suitability with aviation infrastructure and the work of ensuring security and safety; and at the same time take measures and solutions to control and minimize flight delays and cancellations.
At the same time, in Section 4 of Directive 5706/CT-CHK in 2022 of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, the aviation authorities are required to:
- Enhance inspection and supervision of delayed and canceled flights; the performance of obligations of Vietnamese airlines towards passengers in case of flight delay or cancellation.
The Ministry of Health requires the pharmacy to open 24 hours a day on Tet holidays in 2023?
In Section 1 of Official Dispatch 12557/QLD-KD in 2022, the Ministry of Health directs the Departments of Health of the provinces and centrally-run cities to direct businesses and pharmacies trading in drugs in the locality to organize 24-hour drug sales locations and widely publicize information on the mass media to promptly meet the drug needs of patients, not to speculate or increase drug prices during the New Year and Vietnamese New Year holidays in 2023.
In addition, assign a full-time staff to be on duty 24/24h during the New Year holidays and the Vietnamese New Year of the Year of the Cat in 2023 to monitor, grasp the situation and ensure the supply of drugs in the area, report to the Drug Administration of Vietnam before December 20, 2022 to strengthen coordination (suggest providing names and phone numbers of full-time staff).
In addition, the Drug Administration of Vietnam requested the Departments of Health of the provinces and centrally-run cities to direct hospitals and disease control centers under the department to urgently develop plans and deploy drug reserves.
- Ensure the availability of adequate supply of drugs, absolutely no shortage or shortage of drugs to serve the people's medical examination and treatment, ensure quality and reasonable prices, and prevent the occurrence of sudden price increase.
- Specifically, it is required to focus on ensuring the availability of sufficient drugs for emergency work; disease prevention, especially COVID-19; medicines to serve the medical examination and treatment needs during the Vietnamese New Year as well as drugs to treat diseases that often occur in winter - spring such as dengue fever, influenza A, hand, foot and mouth disease, measles, rubella, diarrhea caused by Rotavirus, respiratory and gastrointestinal diseases.
- The Drug Administration of Vietnam emphasized the request of the Department of Health to direct the Inspector of the Department of Health to coordinate with relevant units to strengthen inspection and examination of the implementation of professional regulations on pharmacy and regulations on production, business, import and export of drugs and cosmetics for business establishments in the area. Pay special attention to the detection of fake drugs, poor quality drugs, drugs that are not allowed to circulate, hoard goods, increase prices, etc. and strictly handle detected cases.
