The military salary table in 2024 is divided into two application periods:

*Salary Table Applied from January 01, 2024 to June 30, 2024:

The salary table applied from January 01, 2024, to June 30, 2024, is stipulated in Article 3 of Circular 41/2023/TT-BQP as follows:

Method of Calculating Salaries, Allowances, and Benefits

1. Statutory pay rate: 1,800,000 VND/month.

2. The method of calculating salaries, rank allowances, differential coefficients reserved, and allowances, benefits for the subjects stipulated in Article 2 of this Circular, as follows:

a) Salary

Salary implemented from July 01, 2023 = Statutory pay rate 1,800,000 VND/month x Current salary coefficient

The military salary is currently calculated by the formula:

Salary = Statutory pay rate 1,800,000 VND/month x Current salary coefficient.

Thus, from January 01, 2024, to June 30, 2024, the military salary table still applies according to the current coefficients.

*Salary Table Applied from July 01, 2024:

On November 10, 2023, the National Assembly approved the Resolution on the state budget estimates for 2024. The Resolution clearly states that from July 1, 2024, a comprehensive reform of salary policies will be implemented according to Resolution 27-NQ/TW 2018 of the Seventh Plenum of the 12th Central Committee.

Three new salary tables for the military from July 01, 2024, will be built based on job positions, titles, and leadership roles to replace the current salary system; transitioning from the old salary to the new salary, ensuring it is not lower than the current salary, including:

- One salary table for military officers, police officers, non-commissioned officers (according to positions, titles, and military ranks or equivalent ranks).

- One salary table for professional soldiers, technical specialists in the police force.

- One salary table for national defense workers, police workers (maintaining the correlation of salaries in the armed forces compared to civilian officials as currently).

In Sub-section 3.1 Section II of Resolution 27-NQ/TW 2018, the following reform contents are proposed:

- General standards:

+ Firm political position, absolute loyalty to the Fatherland and the people, to the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; high revolutionary vigilance, readiness for combat, sacrifice, and fulfilling all assigned tasks well.

+ Possess revolutionary ethics; diligence, thrift, integrity, impartiality; exemplary adherence to the Party's lines, policies, and State laws; promote democracy, strictly observe military discipline; respect and unite with the people and comrades; trusted by the masses.

+ Have political, military science level, and the ability to creatively apply Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh thought, the Party's lines, viewpoints, and policies, and the State into the task of building an all-people defense and a people's army; knowledgeable in culture, economy, society, law, and other fields; practical activity capacity to meet assigned tasks; graduate as per the regulations for each position.

+ Clear history, suitable age and health for the position and rank held by the officer.

Specific standards for each officer's position are regulated by competent authorities.
