Based on the regulations at Section 1, Table 6 issued together with Decree 204/2004/ND-CP stipulating the salary coefficients for People's Police officers.
Currently, the statutory pay rate is 1,800,000 VND/month (According to regulations in Decree 24/2023/ND-CP)

Recently, the Chairman of the National Assembly signed and issued Resolution 104/2023/QH15 on the 2024 State Budget Estimates.
According to Resolution 104/2023/QH15, a comprehensive salary policy reform will be implemented according to Resolution 27-NQ/TW of 2018 from July 1, 2024.
According to the spirit of Resolution 27-NQ/TW of 2018, it proposes salary reforms by establishing 03 new salary scales for the military according to job positions, titles, and leadership positions, replacing the current salary system; transitioning from the old salary scales to the new ones, ensuring that the new salary is not lower than the current salary, including:
- 01 salary scale for military officers, professional police officers, non-commissioned officers (according to position, title, and rank);
- 01 salary scale for professional soldiers and technical police staff;
- 01 salary scale for defense and police workers (maintaining the salary relationship of the armed forces compared to the current administrative officer rates).
There will be a specific salary scale for traffic police according to position, title, and rank.

What is the procedure for traffic police control?
Based on the regulations at Article 18 Circular 32/2023/TT-BCA, the procedures for traffic police control are carried out in the following steps:
Step 1: Request the driver of the vehicle to take safety measures and step down from the vehicle.
Step 2: Perform a salute according to People's Police Protocol (except in cases where it is known in advance that the person has committed an act with signs of a crime, caught in the act, or there is a wanted notice). When contacting a person who has violated the law, traffic police officers must maintain proper posture, manners, and an appropriate attitude.
Step 3: Notify the driver and passengers of the reason for the control; request the driver to present relevant documents or information from relevant documents in their electronic identification account.
Step 4: Check the contents specified in Clause 2, Article 12 Circular 32/2023/TT-BCA:
- Check documents related to the person and the vehicle.
- Verify the conditions of the vehicle to participate in traffic.
- Ensure compliance with road safety regulations.
- Check other relevant contents according to legal regulations.
For vehicles carrying 10 or more passengers, or vehicles carrying people with a size equivalent to those carrying 10 or more passengers, it is necessary to directly board the passenger compartment to perform the inspection and notify the inspection results.
Step 5: Conclude the inspection
Traffic police officers report the inspection results to the team leader, inform the driver and passengers of the inspection results, violations (if any), and the handling measures.
