In subsection 1, Section IV, Appendix 1 issued with Joint Circular 16/2016/TTLT-BYT-BQP, regulations on the pre-enlistment medical check-up are as follows:
Physical examination:
a) Rounding method: Height, chest circumference, and weight are rounded. Values of 0.5 and above are rounded up to 1 unit; values of 0.49 and below are not rounded up.

- Weight:
+ 46.50kg recorded as 47kg

b) Physical examination: During the physical examination, the examinee must remove hats, not wear shoes or slippers (barefoot, bareheaded). If male, he must remove all outer clothing, wearing only shorts. If female, she must wear long pants and a thin shirt.
- Measuring height: The person being measured must stand straight, with heels touching each other, arms naturally hanging down, eyes looking straight ahead, and the line of sight parallel to the ground.
+ Measuring device: When measuring height with a scale ruler, attention must be paid to fully extend the top part, then adjust to obtain the correct measurement.
+ When using a wall or column ruler, the wall or column must be vertical, the standing surface must be flat and perpendicular to the wall or column.
+ The person being measured should stand so that heels, buttocks, and shoulder blades touch the wall. The measurement device should be placed against the top of the head, perpendicular to the wall.

In Article 4 of Joint Circular 16/2016/TTLT-BYT-BQP, regulations on the pre-enlistment medical check-up are as follows:
Pre-enlistment medical check-up
1. Medical check-up team
a) The medical check-up team is established by the district health center (including those at district, county-level towns, cities under provincial jurisdiction, or cities under central jurisdiction). The team consists of at least 3 members: 1 doctor as the team leader and 2 other medical staff from the commune health station, who may be mobilized from the district health center if necessary;
b) The medical check-up team is responsible for organizing the medical check-up, preparing medical check-up forms, and compiling and reporting the results as prescribed.
2. Medical check-up contents
a) Physical examination;
b) Measurement of pulse and blood pressure;
c) Screening for internal medicine, surgery, and specialist diseases;
d) Collection of personal and family medical history.
3. Medical check-up procedure
a) Based on the training plan of the local military reserve, make a list of individuals summoned to participate in reserve training within the managed area;
b) Announce the time and location for the medical check-up;
c) Prepare the pre-enlistment medical check-up form according to Form 1, Appendix 4 issued with this Circular;
d) Organize the medical check-up according to the contents specified in Clause 2 of this Article;
dd) Compile, summarize, and report the medical check-up results according to Forms 1a and 5a, Appendix 5 issued with this Circular.
Thus, the medical check-up team, which the district health center establishes, will conduct the pre-enlistment medical check-up.
Where is the preliminary medical check-up for enlistment for enlistment in Vietnam conducted?
In Article 5 of Joint Circular 16/2016/TTLT-BYT-BQP, regulations on the preliminary medical check-up for enlistment are as follows:
Preliminary medical check-up for enlistment
1. The preliminary medical check-up for enlistment is conducted by the commune health station under the professional and operational guidance of the district health center.
2. Contents of the preliminary medical check-up for enlistment
a) Detecting cases of physical inadequacy, deformities, malformations, and diseases exempt from military service registration;
b) Collecting personal and family medical history.
3. Procedure for preliminary medical check-up for enlistment
a) Based on the local military service selection and recruitment plan, make a list of citizens called for the preliminary medical check-up for enlistment within the managed area;
b) Conduct the preliminary medical check-up for enlistment according to the contents specified in Clause 2 of this Article;
c) Complete and confirm the personal medical history and information of citizens called for the pre-enlistment medical check-up according to Section I of Form 2, Appendix 4 issued with this Circular;
d) Make a list of citizens suffering from diseases in the category exempting from military service registration according to Table 3, Appendix 1 issued with this Circular, and report to the Commune Military Service Council;
dd) Compile, summarize, and report the preliminary medical check-up for enlistment results according to Forms 2 and 5b, Appendix 5 issued with this Circular.
