Vietnam Social Security issued Official Dispatch 1488/BHXH-TT dated May 22, 2024, to provide guidelines for promoting thematic propaganda on lump-sum social insurance payout.
In recent years, the propaganda efforts regarding social insurance (SI) and health insurance (HI) policies by the Vietnam Social Security sector have been implemented comprehensively and effectively, spreading both broadly and deeply; employees and various segments of society increasingly understand the value and benefits of the policies, thereby actively and proactively participating; and the trust in the policies has been increasingly consolidated and strengthened.
However, in the current context where the draft Law on Amendments to Law on Social Insurance is being finalized, the number of individuals receiving lump-sum social insurance payout is increasing in many localities. To continue fostering consensus and uniformity in the implementation of social insurance policies, ensuring long-term and sustainable social security benefits for employees, Vietnam Social Security requests its affiliated units, and Social Insurance in provinces and centrally-run cities (provincial SI) to carry out thematic propaganda on lump-sum social insurance payout.
For example, thematic propaganda messages on lump-sum social insurance payout include:
- Receipt of lump-sum social insurance payout means forfeiting the opportunity to receive a monthly pension and health insurance benefits upon retirement.
- To have a monthly pension – do not receive lump-sum social insurance payout.
- For a stable life post-retirement – do not receive lump-sum social insurance payout.
- Do not receive lump-sum social insurance payout to ensure a stable life after retirement.
- Do not receive lump-sum social insurance payout to enjoy monthly pension benefits.
- Receive lump-sum social insurance payout – forfeit the right to free health insurance.
