What are the texts used in Grade 6 Literature in Vietnam?
Based on Subsection 2, Item 5 of the Literature Curriculum in general education issued with Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDDT, the texts used in Grade 6 Literature include:
(1) Literary texts
- Legends, fairy tales, fables, short stories
- Poems, six-eight syllable verse
- Memoirs or travel essays
(2) Argumentative texts
- Social arguments
- Literary arguments
(3) Informative texts
- Texts recounting an event
- Minutes of a meeting
- Diagrams summarizing content
What are criteria for the Grade 6 Literature textbook in Vietnam?
According to Article 5 of the Standards for compiling, editing, and adjusting textbooks; standards for organizations and individuals compiling textbooks; and the organization and activities of the National Textbook Appraisal Council issued with Circular 33/2017/TT-BGDDT regarding the content of textbooks, the content of the Grade 6 Literature textbook must meet the following criteria:
- The content of the textbook accurately and fully reflects the subject or educational activity curriculum.
- Ensures basic, scientific, practical, and appropriate content with the Vietnamese context.
- Terms, concepts, definitions, data, events, and images are accurate, objective, consistent, and suitable for the students’ level.
- Data, events, and images have clear sources.
- New scientific achievements related to the subject or educational activity are updated to meet international integration requirements and align with the subject or educational activity's goals.
- Education content on national sovereignty, human rights, children's rights, gender equality, sustainable development, environmental protection, and climate change adaptation is reasonably included.
