By 2030, Shall the proportion of the value of high-tech industrial products in the processing and manufacturing industries reach at least 45%?

According to the Prime Minister, by 2030, the science, technology and innovation will be firmly developed; become motivation for growth; make a decisive contribution to the development Vietnam into a developing country with modern industry and high middle-income. The science, technology and innovation will contribute to the comprehensive development of culture, society and people, assurance about the national defense - security, environmental protection, sustainable development and improvement of Vietnam's international position and prestige.

The potential and level of science, technology and innovation will reach advanced levels in many key sectors; be one of the top countries with high middle-income. The level and capacity for technology and innovation of enterprises will reach over average rate in the world. Some sectors of science and technology will reach international level.

By 2030, the proportion of the value of high-tech industrial products in the processing and manufacturing industries will reach at least 45%?

Pursuant to Decision 569/QD-TTg dated 11/5/2022, the Prime Minister set the objectives in the Strategy for Development of Science - Technology and Innovation to materialize the above-mentioned general objectives as follows:

- Science, technology and innovation play an important role in the development of crucial industries, especially the processing and manufacturing industry; contribute to the restructuring of the economy towards modernity and the development of Vietnam into a country with modern industry by 2030;

- Actively, effectively participate and take advantage of trade and opportunities of the Fourth Industrial Revolution;

- By 2030, the proportion of the value of high-tech industrial products in the processing and manufacturing industries will reach at least 45%.

In order to achieve the above objectives, the industry must focus on following the following orientations:

The development and application of new material technology in industrial activities of Vietnam

According to Decision 569/QD-TTg dated May 11, 2022, the orientations for development and application of new material technology in industrial activities are as follows:

- Transfer technology, research to manufacture new and advanced materials serving industry and construction including functional materials with variable physical and mechanical properties, advanced polymers and composites, advanced metal and alloy materials, protective coatings that withstand extreme conditions, advanced engineering ceramics, smart materials, new materials that are absorbent or transparent to electronic waves, 3D printing materials, chemicals and materials serving mechanical engineering, supporting industry, petrochemicals, recycled materials in traffic construction; advanced materials serving agriculture including controlled fertilizers, biological pesticides, smart packaging, greenhouse materials, sensor materials for greenhouses, materials for improvement of soil, artificial soil; biomedical materials including implant materials, targeted drug delivery materials, biodegradable materials, smart composites that are capable for promotion of cartilage and bone regeneration; biodegradable materials that are capable for reduction in environmental pollution including biodegradable materials that replace plastics, biodegradable films; advanced materials serving national defense and security including materials that are superdurable, resistant to high temperature and pressure, materials serving control systems; alloys with special features; electronic and photonic materials in modules and equipment of telecommunications, electrical engineering and energy-saving systems, especially fiber optic cable materials.

- Research to master energy storage and conversion material technologies including batteries, high-performance fuel cells, hydrogen storage materials, PV materials, thermo-electric materials, photothermal materials, materials serving wind power production, biofuel.

The development and application of automation – manufacturing technology in industrial activities of Vietnam

According to Decision 569/QD-TTg dated 11/5/2022, the orientations for development and application of automation – manufacturing technology in industrial activities are as follows:

- Acquire, master and develop advanced and intelligent manufacturing-automation technology including technology for design and manufacturing of compatible equipment and lines in petroleum, hydroelectricity, thermal power, shipbuilding, mineral extraction and processing; technology for manufacturing of energy-saving equipment systems; technology for manufacturing of complex, large-scale and highly reliable systems; advanced technology for 3D printing, reverse engineering and rapid prototyping used in manufacturing of all kinds of industrial equipment, electrical equipment, metal products and high-level composites; automation technology for measurement and processing of information, control of the processes of production; technology for production of important microcontroller chips, high-power semiconductor components used in automation devices; technology for production of basic auxiliary equipment in automation, robot technology, automated production line.

- Research and manufacture some new equipment combinations with high accuracy and integration and automation in national defense and security.

Thus, the Prime Minister has set the specific objectives and orientations for development of industrial activities to quickly complete the specific objectives for development of science, technology and innovation in Vietnam
