According to Articles 34 and 35 of the Regulations issued with Circular 32/2020/TT-BGDDT, the rights and responsibilities of students are specifically outlined as follows:
- Responsibilities of students
+ Perform study and training tasks according to the school's educational program and plans.
+ Respect parents, staff, teachers, and other school employees, as well as elders; foster solidarity and mutual assistance in study and training; adhere to school rules and regulations; comply with national laws.
+ Train physically and maintain personal hygiene.
+ Participate in collective activities organized by the school, class, Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers Organization, and Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; assist family, engage in labor and social activities, participate in environmental protection, and observe traffic safety rules.
+ Safeguard and protect school property and public property; contribute to building, protecting, and promoting the school's traditions.
- Rights of students
+ Be equally entitled to comprehensive education, ensured with adequate time, facilities, hygiene, and safety for classroom study and self-learning at home, provided with information about their learning and training progress, and allowed to use equipment and facilities for learning, cultural, and sporting activities at school as per regulations.
+ Be respected and protected, treated with equality and democracy, entitled to appeal to the school and education management authorities concerning decisions regarding themselves; be permitted to transfer schools for legitimate reasons according to current regulations; be allowed to study ahead of the standard age, skip grades, or study at an older age than prescribed under Article 33 of the Regulations issued with Circular 32/2020/TT-BGDDT.
+ Participate in activities organized by the school aimed at developing talents in academic subjects, sports, and arts if capable.
+ Receive scholarships or other forms of support according to the regulations for students eligible for social policies, those with difficult living conditions, and those with special talents.
+ Transfer schools if eligible as per regulations; the transfer procedure shall be performed according to the applicable regulations of the Minister of Education and Training.
+ Enjoy other rights as stipulated by law.
What grades will the new 2018 general education program apply to in the 2023-2024 academic year?
Based on regulations specified in Article 2 of Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDDT as follows:
The general education program is implemented according to the following schedule:
1. From the 2020-2021 academic year for grade 1.
2. From the 2021-2022 academic year for grades 2 and 6.
3. From the 2022-2023 academic year for grades 3, 7, and 10.
4. From the 2023-2024 academic year for grades 4, 8, and 11.
5. From the 2024-2025 academic year for grades 5, 9, and 12.
According to the above regulation, the 2018 new general education program will be applied in the 2023-2024 academic year for students in grades 1, 2, 6, 3, 7, and 10, and specifically for the first time to grades 4, 8, and 11.
The remaining grades, including grades 5, 9, and 12, will apply the 2018 new general education program in the 2024-2025 academic year.
