What are the conditions for students to be recognized for graduation and awarded a diploma?
Based on Article 14 of the Regulation issued with Circular 08/2021/TT-BGDDT stipulates as follows:
Recognition of Graduation and Awarding of Diplomas
1. Students shall be considered and recognized for graduation when they meet the following conditions:
a) Accumulate sufficient courses and credits, complete other mandatory content as required by the training program, and meet the output standards of the training program;
b) The cumulative GPA of the entire course is average or higher;
c) At the time of consideration for graduation, they are not subject to criminal prosecution or disciplinary suspension from study.
Students are considered and recognized for graduation when they meet the following conditions:

Based on Article 20 of the Regulation issued with Circular 08/2021/TT-BGDDT stipulates as follows:
Handling Violations of Students
1. Students who cheat in exams, tests, and assessments of learning outcomes will be disciplined for each violated course according to the current High School Graduation Exam Regulations issued by the Ministry of Education and Training, except for the case stipulated in Clause 2 of this Article.
2. Students who take exams for others or ask others to take exams for them will be disciplined with a one-year suspension for the first violation and expulsion for the second violation.
3. Learners who use falsified documents, diplomas, or certificates as admission or graduation conditions will be expelled; the diplomas issued will be revoked and nullified.
Based on Article 54 of the Regulation issued with Circular 15/2020/TT-BGDDT (amended by Clause 17 Article 1 Circular 05/2021/TT-BGDDT) stipulates handling candidates violating exam regulations as follows:
All violations of exam regulations will be recorded in a report, disciplined, and notified to the candidate. They include the following disciplinary actions:
- Reprimand:- Warning:- Suspension from the exam:- Deduction of exam scores:- Annulment of exam results:- Annulment of exam results and file submission to competent authorities for consideration and handling in accordance with the law:- File submission to competent authorities for consideration and initiation of criminal responsibility according to regulations.
Students violating the exam rules will be recorded in a report.

3. Suspension from the exam:
a) For candidates violating one of the following: Having been warned once but continuing to violate exam regulations in a reprimand or warning manner during the exam time for that paper; bringing unauthorized items specified in Article 14 of this Regulation into the exam room/waiting room or during movement between the exam room and the waiting room; taking the exam paper out of the exam room or receiving solution papers from outside the exam room; writing, drawing on their answer sheet content unrelated to the exam; fighting, threatening exam personnel or other candidates; failing to follow the instructions of the supervisors or waiting room managers during movement in the exam area and in the waiting room time;
b) The exam supervisor prepares a report, confiscates the evidence (if any), and reports to the Exam Site Manager who will decide the suspension form. If the Exam Site Manager does not agree, it will be reported to the Exam Coordinating Committee Head for resolution. The candidate suspended from the exam must submit their exam paper, exam questions, and draft papers to the supervisor and leave the exam room immediately after the decision, only leaving the exam area after the exam time ends;
c) Candidates suspended from the exam in any year will have all their test papers/subject exams results in that year annulled.
Students using unauthorized materials will be suspended from the exam and must be recorded in a report.
Based on Clause 5 Article 10 of the Regulation issued with Circular 08/2021/TT-BGDDT stipulates as follows:

5. Students' academic performance is classified based on the average GPA of the semester, academic year, or cumulative GPA as follows:
a) Using a 4-point scale:
From 3.6 to 4.0: Excellent;
From 3.2 to less than 3.6: Good;
From 2.5 to less than 3.2: Fair;
From 2.0 to less than 2.5: Average;
From 1.0 to less than 2.0: Weak;
Below 1.0: Poor.
b) Using a 10-point scale:
From 9.0 to 10.0: Excellent;
From 8.0 to less than 9.0: Good;
From 7.0 to less than 8.0: Fair;
From 5.0 to less than 7.0: Average;
From 4.0 to less than 5.0: Weak;
Below 4.0: Poor.

3. The degree classification is determined based on the cumulative GPA for the entire course as stipulated in Clause 5 Article 10 of this Regulation, in which the degree classification for students with excellent or good cumulative GPA will be reduced by one level if they fall into one of the following cases:
a) The number of credits of the courses they must retake exceeds 5% of the total credits required for the entire program;
b) Students who have been disciplined from the level of warning or higher during their studies.
Students' degree classification will be lowered if they fall into one of the following cases:
- The number of credits of the courses they must retake exceeds 5% of the total credits required for the entire program;- Students who have been disciplined from the level of warning or higher during their studies.
Thus, if a student is recorded in a report for using unauthorized materials, their degree classification will be lowered.
