How much is the membership fee for a CPV member living abroad?
Based on sub-item 5, Section 1, Part B of the regulations on membership fee policies issued with Decision 342/QD-TW 2010, there is a regulation regarding the subjects and monthly Party dues payment. Specifically:
Subjects and the monthly membership fee contribution for members of Communist Party of Vietnam
Monthly income of Party members to calculate membership fee contribution includes: salaries, certain allowances; wages; living expenses; other income. members of Communist Party of Vietnam who can determine regular income contribute membership fees according to a percentage (%) of monthly income (before calculating personal income tax); Party members who cannot determine income contribute a fixed monthly amount for each type of subject.

5- members of Communist Party of Vietnam living, studying, working abroad
5.1- members of Communist Party of Vietnam working at Vietnam's representative agencies abroad; Party members studying under agreements funded by foreign entities or funded from the state budget contribute membership fees at 1% of monthly living expenses.
5.2- members of Communist Party of Vietnam studying abroad at their own expense; members working abroad; members living with family and conducting independent businesses, contribute between 2 to 5 USD monthly.
5.3- members of Communist Party of Vietnam who are owners or co-owners of businesses, trade areas, service stores, contribute a minimum of 10 USD monthly.

How are membership fees managed and used?
According to the regulation in sub-item 2, Section 2, Part B of Decision 342-QD/TW 2010, there is a regulation on the management and use of membership fees as follows:
- The membership fees retained at each level are used to balance into the Party work operation funding source at that level. For district, town, city Party committees; provincial, centrally-run city Party committees; Central Military Party organizations, Central Police Party, and the Party's financial agencies at the central level, the membership fees retained are not counted in the regular expenditure budget of the agency or unit but are set up as the reserve fund of the Party at that level; the reserve fund is used to supplement the expenditure of the Party committee, supporting financial activities for affiliated organizations with difficulties; the Party committee decides on the expenditure from the reserve fund.
- The Party committees are responsible for compiling the situation of membership fee collection, submission, and usage of their level and the entire Party organization, preparing reports to the higher-level Party committee. The Central Office of the Communist Party is responsible for compiling the membership fee collection, submission, and usage situation of the entire Communist Party, reporting to the Central Committee.
