2. Names of the Trade Union of Vietnam over the periods
- Red Assembly (1929 - 1935), actively propagandized, mobilized, organized, and led workers to fight against oppression and exploitation, a revolutionary struggle to gain independence for the nation. The struggles have attracted a large number of workers from many industries in Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Bien Hoa, Ha Tien, Pleiku, Saigon, Gia Dinh, Quang Nam... Participate and win certain victories.
- Friendship Trade Union (1936–1939), the goal of the Friendship Union was to demand freedom of union and democratic democracy, to rally the masses widely... From 1936 to 1939, tens of thousands of workers' struggles forced the French colonialists to accept a number of demands: wage increases, reduced working hours, freedom of union activities, freedom of assembly, anti-employer dismissals and beatings of workers.
- Anti-imperialist Workers' Union (1939–1941), whose mission was to fight to protect the daily interests of workers, to overthrow colonial and feudal governments, to liberate classes and nations, to lead strikes.
- National Salvation Workers' Association (1941 - 1946), under the leadership of the Party, with appropriate organizational form, and clear struggle goals, the National Salvation Workers' movement developed strongly in Tonkin, Central China, especially in the localities of Hanoi, Hai Phong, Hon Gai... In August 1945, the working class under the leadership of the Party together with the people of the whole country overthrew Nazi Japan and the feudal government, won national independence, and established the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.
- Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (1946 - 1961), in response to the new requirements and tasks of the revolution, on June 20, 1946, the National Salvation Trade Union Cadres Conference decided to change the name of "National Salvation Workers' Union" to "Trade Union" and establish "Vietnam General Confederation of Labor", trade unions at all levels mobilized workers to join the fighting, mobilize workers to build production bases, serve the resistance for a long time, and build the socialist North.
