On December 26, 2024, the Minister of Education and Training of Vietnam issued Circular 27/2024/TT-BGDDT regarding the Regulations on the organization and operation of schools and classes for persons with disabilities.
The standards for Principals and Vice Principals of Specialized Education Schools are specified in Article 7 of the Regulation issued with Circular 27/2024/TT-BGDDT as follows:
- For Principals of Specialized Education Schools: The duties, powers, and standards applicable to Principals of Specialized Education Schools follow the regulations for Principals of educational institutions at the same level and type. Additionally, they must carry out some other duties and powers as follows:
+ Hold at least a bachelor's degree in the field of Educational Science and teacher training. If the degree is not in Special Education, one of the following certificates is required: certificate of professional management in inclusive education, certificate of teaching profession in inclusive education, or certificate of special education profession as regulated by the Ministry of Education and Training;
+ Have at least 5 years of work experience in the field of education and training;
+ Enjoy allowance policies and preferential policies as prescribed.
- For Vice Principals of Specialized Education Schools: The duties, powers, and standards applicable to Vice Principals of Specialized Education Schools follow the regulations for Vice Principals of educational institutions at the same level and type. Additionally, they must carry out some other duties and powers as follows:
+ Hold at least a bachelor's degree in the field of Educational Science and teacher training. If the degree is not in Special Education, one of the following certificates is required: certificate of professional management in inclusive education, certificate of teaching profession in inclusive education, or certificate of special education profession as regulated by the Ministry of Education and Training;
+ Have at least 3 years of work experience in the field of education and training;
+ Enjoy allowance policies and preferential policies as prescribed.
