New Regulations on the Destruction of Recalled Vaccines

The Minister of Health has just issued Circular 03/2020/TT-BYT amending and supplementing a number of articles of Circular 11/2018/TT-BYT dated May 4, 2018, of the Ministry of Health on regulations of drug quality and drug materials.

This Circular has supplemented the regulations on vaccine destruction in Clause 6, Article 15 of Circular 11/2018/TT-BYT, specifically:

At least 07 days before conducting the vaccine destruction, the vaccine destruction facility must provide a written notification of the destruction plan to the local Department of Health, which must include information on the name, quantity, concentration, or dosage of each vaccine to be destroyed, the reason for destruction, time of destruction, place of destruction, and method of destruction;

The destruction of vaccines must comply with Inter-ministerial Circular 58/2015/TTLT-BYT-BTNMT and Circular 36/2015/TT-BTNMT;

Within 07 days from the date of completion of the vaccine destruction, the facility must submit a written report on the vaccine destruction along with the destruction minutes to the local Department of Health and the Drug Administration of Vietnam.
