Conditions for issuance of amateur radio certificates in Vietnam

Individuals applying for an amateur radio certificate must take a theory test and an amateur radio practice test at recognized organizations qualified to issue amateur radio certificates.

If an individual passes the exam, they are eligible to receive an amateur radio certificate.

Examination registration dossier for amateur radio certification

Registration documents for the exam to issue an amateur radio certificate include:

- Application for registration for amateur radio competition and issuance of amateur radio certificates according to Form 01 specified in Appendix X issued with Decree 63/2023/ND-CP;

- Legal copy of Citizen Identification Card, ID card, or valid Passport;

- 02 color photos, size 03 cm x 04 cm, taken within 06 months before the application submission date, with a clear face, clear ears, no hat, and no makeup.

Order and procedures for granting amateur radio certificates in Vietnam

- The person registering for the exam submits 01 set of exam registration documents to receive an amateur radio certificate to an organization recognized as qualified to issue amateur radio certificates by post or by applying directly to an organization recognized as qualified to issue amateur radio certificates.

- Organizations recognized as qualified to issue amateur radio certificates receive and check the validity of the dossiers. In case the dossier is incomplete or does not comply with regulations on dossier composition, within 05 working days from the date of receipt of the dossier, organizations recognized as qualified to issue amateur radio certificates notify and guide candidates to take additional exams and complete their dossiers.

- Within 14 days from the end of the theory test and practical test, an organization recognized as qualified to issue amateur radio certificates shall issue a certificate to candidates who pass both the theory test and the test and take a practical test according to the prescribed form or refuse to issue an amateur radio certificate and clearly state the reasons.
