Additional criteria for judicial experts in the field of Agriculture and Rural Development in Vietnam

The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam issued Circular 20/2022/TT-BNNPTNT dated December 22, 2022 providing for judicial expertise in the field of Agriculture and Rural Development.

According to Vietnam's Circular 20/2022/TT-BNNPTNT, the criteria for judicial expertise according to cases in the field of agriculture and rural development with Vietnamese citizens permanently residing in Vietnam are selected and considered for the appointment of judicial experts in the field of agriculture and rural development, they must fully meet the regulations specified in Article 7 of the Law on Judicial Expertise 2012, including:

- Having good health and moral qualities and not falling into the cases specified in Clause 2 and Article 7 of the Law on Judicial Expertise 2012.

- A university degree or higher; training from a Vietnamese educational institution as required by law; or training from a foreign educational institution recognized for use in Vietnam.

(This is in contrast to Circular 49/2014/TT-BNNPTNT. which adds a university degree or higher from a foreign educational institution that is recognized in Vietnam.)

- Having worked professionally in the field of training for at least 5 years from the date of appointment to the rank of civil servant or public employee or signing a labor contract, in a field of judicial expertise appropriate to the field to which he or she is assigned.appointed.

Vietnam's Circular 20/2022/TT-BNNPTNT takes effect on February 20, 2023, replacing Vietnam's Circular 49/2014/TT-BNNPTNT.
