Prices for medical examination and treatment services covered by medical insurance in Vietnam (Latest)

From March 21, 2017, medical examination and treatment facilities (including central and local) in 13 provinces/cities shall apply the pricing level including salary costs as prescribed in Clause 2, Article 5 of Joint Circular 37/2015/TTLT-BYT-BTC, including: Phu Tho, Binh Dinh, Hai Phong, Hung Yen, Vinh Phuc, Ninh Thuan, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Binh, Ba Ria Vung Tau, Can Tho, Binh Phuong, Dong Nai, Tay Ninh.

- In case medical examination and treatment facilities have not updated the service prices including direct costs, specific allowances, and salary costs into the software for settlement of medical examination and treatment costs by health insurance as of March 21, 2017: they will implement it after completing the update (not retroactively applying from March 21, 2017, until the updated date when the salary-including price is applied).

Other units and localities (excluding the 49 provinces/cities already adjusted in August 2016, October 2016, December 2016, and the 13 provinces/cities adjusted this time and the units specified in Clause 3, Article 5 of Circular 37) shall continue to implement the price level including direct costs and specific allowances as prescribed in Clause 1, Article 5 of Circular 37 until the Ministry of Health issues a written notice specifying the implementation time for each unit or locality.

Hereafter are the updates from Thu Ky Luat on the health insurance examination and treatment service prices in 63 centrally-affiliated provinces/cities based on the following documents:

- Official Dispatch 6188/BYT-KH-TC dated August 12, 2016, on the implementation of medical examination and treatment service prices including salary costs by the Ministry of Health.

- Official Dispatch 7354/BYT-KH-TC dated October 7, 2016, on the implementation of medical examination and treatment service prices including salary costs by the Ministry of Health (2nd series).

- Official Dispatch 9033/BYT-KH-TC dated December 21, 2016, on the implementation of medical examination and treatment service prices including salary costs by the Ministry of Health (3rd series)

.- Official Dispatch 1367/BYT-KH-TC on the implementation of medical examination and treatment service prices including salary costs in March 2017 issued by the Ministry of Health.

- Joint Circular 37/2015/TTLT-BYT-BTC dated October 29, 2015, on the uniform pricing of medical examination and treatment services by health insurance among hospitals of the same rank nationwide, issued by the Minister of Health and the Ministry of Finance (Article 5).
