I would like to know the Lunar New Year holiday in 2023 “Van Long - Quang Ninh, Vietnam”

Hello, Lawnet would like to answer your questions as follows:

The Government Office issued Official Dispatch 8056/VPCP-KGVX dated December 1, 2022, on the Lunar New Year holiday and National Day holiday in 2023 on the basis of the proposal of the Ministry of Labour, Invalids, and Social Affairs.

The Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam, Vu Duc Dam, commented as follows:

- Accept the proposal in the Ministry of Labour, Invalids, and Social Affairs document regarding the Lunar New Year holiday from January 20, 2023 to the end of January 26, 2023;

- National Day holiday from September 1st to September 4th, 2023.

Thus, civil servants and employees will have the Lunar New Year holiday from December 29 in the year of the Tiger until the end of January 5 in the year of the Rabbit.

In addition, the request does:

- Agencies and units that implement the above holiday schedule must arrange reasonable working arrangements to deal with continuous work, ensuring good service to the organization and the people.

- Other weekly holidays, public holidays, and New Year's holidays shall comply with the provisions of the Labor Code.

- Authorizes the Minister of Labour, Invalids, and Social Affairs to announce the Lunar New Year holiday and National Day holiday in 2023.

Previously, the Ministry of Labour, Invalids, and Social Affairs of Vietnam sent a document to 16 ministries, including 13 ministries, to solicit feedback on the Lunar New Year holiday schedule:

Option 1: Tet holiday for 7 consecutive days, from January 20 to January 26, 2023, i.e., from December 29 of the year of the Tiger until the end of January 5 of the year of the Rabbit.

Option 2: Take a tet holiday for nine consecutive days, from January 21–29, 2023, i.e., from December 30 of the year of the tiger until the end of January 8 of the year of the rabbit.
