The 2024 Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) is scheduled to return in June. The event is organized by the Da Nang People's Committee in collaboration with Sun Group. The venue for the 2024 DIFF will include the Han River port area (for shooting range) and the sidewalk area of Tran Hung Dao Street (for performing arts).

The 2024 DIFF is expected to have 8 teams participating in the competition, including 7 international teams: France, Italy, the United States, Germany, Poland, China, Finland and the Da Nang team - Vietnam.

Among them, there are 3 rookies from the United States, Germany, and China who are participating in the performance and competition for the first time.

During each competition night, the teams will have 20 minutes to perform fireworks displays based on the theme of each night agreed upon by the organizing committee, to light up the summer along the Han River.

The Da Nang People's Committee said that the overall theme of the 2024 DIFF is currently in the selection process. However, the city's leaders emphasized that the 2024 DIFF will be aimed at the message of a peaceful, just, harmonious and humane society.

DIFF was first held in Vietnam in 2008. In 2024, it will be the 12th time the DIFF has been held in Da Nang.

Thus, in 2024, the 2024 Da Nang International Fireworks Festival is expected to take place at the beginning of June. The venue is in the Han River port area (shooting ground) and the sidewalk area of Tran Hung Dao Street (organizing art performances). Normally, the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival is held once a year based on the actual situation that the Organizing Committee and People's Committee of Da Nang City will announce.

2. Management and preservation of pyrotechnics and pyrotechnic compositions in Vietnam

According to the Article 6 of the Decree 137/2020/ND-CP stipulating management and preservation of pyrotechnics and pyrotechnic compositions in Vietnam as follows:

- Management and preservation of consumer fireworks, fireworks and pyrotechnic compositions must meet following requirements:

+ Ensuring security, order, safety and fire safety requirements as per the law; and

+ Location for storage and preservation of consumer fireworks, fireworks and pyrotechnic compositions must be guaranteed in terms of security, order, safety, fire safety, lightning protection, static control and environmental protection according to national technical regulations, national technical standards and relevant law provisions;

+ Location for storage and preservation of consumer fireworks, fireworks and pyrotechnic compositions must develop regulations on ensuring security, order, safety, fire protection; develop protection measures, assign guard forces and organize guard around the clock; examine, control security, safety, fire safety, fire fighting conditions for individuals and vehicles entering, leaving and working in storage area; install restriction signs and signs for regulations related to safety, fire prevention; post procedures for arranging, preserving, extracting and supplying; emergency response plans; fire prevention, rescue and evacuation measures; security and order measures, plans or measures for preventing and responding to chemical hazards; fully equip fire prevention and firefighting equipment and devices.

- For pyrotechnics and pyrotechnic compositions collected from cases and agencies, submitting organizations and individuals must stringently manage and preserve the pyrotechnics, pyrotechnic compositions as per the law; storage must conform to Point c Clause 1 Article 6 of the Decree 137/2020/ND-CP.

- Processes of handling, transporting and preserving pyrotechnics and pyrotechnic compositions must avoid dramatic impact and sources of heat or electricity; prohibit fire or objects that can produce fire or sparks.

Therefore, the management and storage of fireworks and gunpowder must comply with the regulations on security, safety, and fire prevention. The storage warehouse must have strict protection and monitoring measures.

At the same time, the transportation and loading and unloading process must be careful to avoid strong impacts and sources of fire and explosion. Fireworks and gunpowder seized must be managed and stored strictly in accordance with regulations.
