Hello, Lawnet would like to answer as follows:
Concrete roofing tiles and fittings used for roofing, cladding, or wall covering must comply with the technical requirements specified in TCVN 1453:2023, including:
(1) Materials:
The materials used in the production of concrete roofing tiles and fittings are concrete formed by mixing and solidifying a mixture of cement, aggregate, and water.
Note: In addition to the basic components, concrete may also contain colorants and additives.
(2) Surface quality:
The contact surface (top surface) of the tile or fitting must have a harmonious structure with the completed roof or wall.
The tile or fitting may have the following surface characteristics:
- Non-continuous cracks on the bottom surface of the tile or fitting resulting from the production process.
- Scratches and abrasion caused by packaging, stacking, or transportation without affecting other quality characteristics.
- Slight color variations due to the production process or weather impact.
- Slight efflorescence without altering other quality characteristics.
(3) Measurements:
- Hanging length and perpendicularity:
The hanging length of the tile must be specified by the manufacturer in the product's technical specifications. For tiles with a uniform front edge, the hanging length l1, when tested according to 6.1 TCVN 1453:2023, must be within ± 4 mm of the hanging length specified by the manufacturer.
The perpendicularity of tiles with a constant hanging length, when tested according to 6.1 TCVN 1453:2023, must not exceed 4 mm.
This requirement does not apply to tiles designed, for example, for aesthetic reasons with uneven front edges.
- Working width:
The working width cw of the tile must be specified by the manufacturer in the product's technical specifications.
Note: The width of the interlocking groove along the vertical length of the tile may also be specified by the manufacturer in the product's technical specifications.
This requirement does not apply to tiles designed, for example, for aesthetic reasons with randomly varying working widths.
(4) Weight:
The weight of the tile or fitting must be specified by the manufacturer in the product's technical specifications. When the tile is tested according to 6.4, the average weight must be within the range:
- Manufacturer-specified weight ± 0.2 kg for cases where the published weight of the tile does not exceed 2 kg.
- Manufacturer-specified weight ± 10% for cases where the published weight of the tile exceeds 2 kg.
Translation: (5) Screw holes (if any):
If there are screw holes, they must be designed to securely fix the tile or fitting to the roof, wall structure, or other components using appropriate fastening tools.
Note 1: Details regarding the size and location of the screw holes may be provided in the manufacturer's technical and/or commercial documentation.
Note 2: Typically, the fastening tools can be nails, screws, hooks, clamps, steel wires, etc. These fastening tools should not negatively affect the quality characteristics or installation performance of the concrete tiles or fittings being used.
(6) Mechanical strength (flexural strength):
The tile is tested according to 6.5 TCVN 1453:2023:
(7) Water permeability:
When tested according to 6.6 TCVN 1453:2023, the underside of the tile and/or ridge tile may have water droplets, but no droplets should fall before completing the test (20 hours).
The fittings, except for ridge tiles, comply with 4.3.4 and are not required to be tested for water permeability.
(8) Holding capacity of the groove:
For tiles with a groove, when tested according to 6.7 TCVN 1453:2023, the groove must hold the tile in the testing position without falling before completing the test (1 minute).
Note: This requirement is not mandatory and applies when agreed upon by the relevant parties.
(9) Freeze-thaw resistance:
Note: This requirement is not mandatory and applies when agreed upon by the relevant parties.
According to Section 7 of TCVN 1453:2023, the labeling, storage, and transportation of concrete roofing tiles and fittings are specified as follows:
- Labeling:
Concrete roofing tiles and fittings that comply with this Standard must be marked with the name of the manufacturer, brand, or other equivalent identification methods.
The following information must be clearly stated on the delivery note, invoice, or certificate from the supplier accompanying the batch of concrete tiles and/or fittings:
+ Name, brand, or other identification methods of the manufacturer;
+ Country of origin and organizations (optional);
+ TCVN 1453:2023 number, i.e., TCVN 1453;
+ Name and color of the product.
- Storage
Tiles or fittings must be packaged with soft foam material or tied into bundles.
Tiles or fittings must be stored in a warehouse with a roof cover, stacked in batches according to their types, stacked vertically and inclined along the length of the tile or fitting, forming stacks.
- Transportation
Tiles or fittings can be transported by any means of transportation. The unloading of the products must be done gently and carefully, avoiding impacts.
During transportation, tiles or fittings should be stacked tightly together, using soft materials such as foam, insulation cotton, straw, etc., for cushioning.
Best regards!
