What are the objectives of teaching the 2nd-grade Vietnamese language subject?

According to subsection 2, Section 3 of the Literature Education Program issued with Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDDT, the objectives of teaching the 2nd-grade Vietnamese language subject are as follows:

- To help students form and develop essential traits with specific manifestations: love for nature, family, and homeland; awareness of roots; appreciation for beauty, goodness, and healthy emotions; interest in learning, enthusiasm for labor; honesty and straightforwardness in learning and life; consciousness of responsibilities toward oneself, family, society, and the environment.

- To help students begin to form common capabilities, develop language skills in all reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills at a basic level: read correctly, and fluently; understand the content, and main information of texts; relate, compare outside the text; write correctly in terms of spelling, grammar; be able to write some sentences, paragraphs, short essays (mainly narrative and descriptive essays); articulate clearly; understand other's ideas.

- To develop literary capacity with the requirement to distinguish poetry and stories, know how to read poems and stories; recognize the beauty of artistic language; have imagination, understand, and be emotionally moved by the beauty and goodness of people and the world as represented in literary texts.
