What is the mole? What are formulas for calculating the number of moles for grade 8 students in Vietnam?

A mole is the amount of substance containing 6x1023 atoms or molecules of that substance. This figure is called Avogadro's constant. In Chemistry, the mole number is denoted as: n

Below is a summary of some formulas for calculating mole numbers for grade 8 students in Vietnam:

(1) Formula for calculating moles when mass is known:

n = m / M

Where:

+ m: mass of the substance (g);

+ M: molar mass (g/mol).

(2) Formula for calculating moles of gas when volume is known at standard conditions (25℃, 1 bar):

n = V / 24.79

Where: V is the volume of gas at standard conditions (L).

(3) Formula for calculating moles when molarity and solution volume are known:

n = C(M) x V(dd)

Where:

+ C(M): concentration of the solution (mol/L);

+ V(dd): volume of the solution (L).

(4) Formula for calculating moles when percentage concentration and mass of the solution are known:

n = (C% x m(dd)) / (100% x M(ct))

Where:

+ C%: percentage concentration of the solution, unit %;

+ m(dd): mass of the solution (g);

+ M(ct): molar mass of the solute (g/mol)

(5) Formula for calculating moles when percentage concentration, volume, and density of the solution are known:

n = (V(dd) x D x C%) / (100% x M)

Where:

+ V(dd): volume of the solution (unit: ml);

+ D: density (g/ml);

+ C%: is the percentage concentration of the solution, unit %;

+ M: molar mass (g/mol).

(6) Formula for calculating moles of gas when pressure, volume, and a specific temperature are known:

n = (P x V) / (R x T)

Where:

+ P: pressure (atm);

+ V: volume (L);

+ R: constant (R = 0.082);

+ T: Temperature in Kelvin (T = ℃ + 273).

(7) Formula for calculating moles by concept:

n = N / N(A)

Where:

+ n is the number of mole of atoms, molecules, ions (mol).

+ N is the number of atoms, molecules.

+ N(A) is Avogadro's number (N(A) = 6.022x10^23).

What is the age of grade 8 students in Vietnam?

Based on Article 33 of the Charter for lower secondary schools, upper secondary schools, and schools with multiple levels issued together with Circular 32/2020/TT-BGDDT, the age of students in secondary schools is regulated as follows:

Age of students in secondary schools

  1. The age of students entering Grade 6 is 11 years. The age of students entering Grade 10 is 15 years. For students who skip grades in the previous level or enter the level at an older age than the prescribed age, the age for entering Grade 6 and Grade 10 may be reduced or increased based on the age at the time of graduation from the previous education level.
  1. Students of ethnic minorities, students with disabilities, students with particularly difficult circumstances, students returning from abroad may enter the grade at an older age than the prescribed age by up to 3 years.
  1. A student may not repeat a grade more than 3 times in one education level.
  1. Students with good physical health and early intellectual development may enter school earlier or skip a grade within the education level. Consideration for each specific case is conducted as follows:

a) Parents or guardians submit a request to the school.

b) The principal establishes a survey and advisory council consisting of the school's leadership representatives and the parent association of the school; teachers teaching the class where the student is studying.

c) Based on the survey results of the council, the principal considers and makes a decision.

  1. Students in the prescribed age group returning from abroad or children of foreigners working in Vietnam are eligible to study in a secondary school in their place of residence or outside their place of residence if the school can accommodate them. Consideration for each specific case is conducted as follows:

a) Parents or guardians submit a request to the school.

b) The principal organizes an assessment of the student's level and places them in an appropriate class.

According to the above regulation, in normal cases, the age of Grade 8 students is 13 years. However, for students who skip grades, ethnic minorities, students with disabilities, students with particularly difficult circumstances, students returning from abroad, repeating students, or those entering the level at an older age than prescribed, the age of Grade 8 students in these cases may be younger or older than 13 years.

What are the duties of grade 8 students in Vietnam?

According to Article 36 of the Charter for lower secondary schools, upper secondary schools, and schools with multiple levels issued together with Circular 32/2020/TT-BGDDT, grade 8 students have the following duties:

- Fulfill the learning and training tasks according to the school's educational program and plan.

- Respect parents, officials, teachers, staff of the school, and elders; unite and assist each other in learning and training; comply with the school's rules and regulations; adhere to the state's laws.

- Exercise, maintain personal hygiene.

- Participate in collective activities of the school, class, Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization, Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; assist families, engage in labor and social activities, environmental protection activities, and traffic order and safety.

- Protect and maintain the school's assets and public property; contribute to building, protecting, and promoting the school's traditions.
