What is the Duration of Supplemental Activities and Drills on Fire Prevention and Fighting for the 2024–2025 School Year in Vietnam?
Based on Article 3 of Circular 06/2022/TT-BGDDT, the content of knowledge and skills on fire prevention, fighting, and rescue in Vietnam are stipulated as follows:
Content of knowledge and skills on fire prevention, fighting, and rescue
1. Content of propaganda and legal education on fire prevention, fighting, and rescue.
a) Legal documents, directives, and guidelines on fire prevention, fighting, and rescue as per the Law on Fire Prevention and Fighting and the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
b) Responsibilities of various levels, sectors, organizations, individuals, and families in fire prevention, fighting, and rescue.
c) The dangers, harms, and consequences of fire and explosion to individuals, families, communities, and society.
d) Measures and procedures for fire prevention, fighting, and rescue at home, school, and in the community; the responsibility to report when fires or accidents occur.
2. Basic knowledge and skills about fire prevention, fighting, and rescue are integrated into official curriculum subjects as specified in the preschool education program, the general education program issued by the Ministry of Education and Training, or in the training programs of higher education institutions.
3. Supplementary knowledge and skills on fire prevention, fighting, and rescue are provided by educational institutions to learners to meet the specific requirements stipulated in Article 5 of this Circular, ensuring appropriateness with school conditions.
4. The content of fire prevention, fighting, and rescue drills includes: drills on using firefighting equipment, rescue equipment (with actual or model equipment), and drills on evacuation plans in case of fires or explosions.
5. The duration of supplementary activities and fire safety drills: For preschool children, at least 01 session per school year. For general education students and learners in continuing education centers, at least 02 sessions per school year. For university students, at least 03 sessions per school year.
The duration of supplementary activities and fire safety drills for the 2024-2025 school year are as follows:
- For preschool children, ensure at least 01 session per school year.
- For general education students and learners in continuing education centers, ensure at least 02 sessions per school year.
- For university students, ensure at least 03 sessions per school year.

What are the methods and forms of education on fire prevention, fighting, and rescue skills for learners in the 2024-2025 school year in Vietnam?
Based on Article 4 of Circular 06/2022/TT-BGDDT regulating the organization of education on fire prevention and fighting skills for students in Vietnam as follows:
(1). For preschool education
- Integrated through nurturing, caring, and educating activities for children.
- Utilization of direct visual, illustrative methods through physical development educational activities.
(2). For general education and continuing education
- Integrated into the content of lessons in main curriculum subjects.
- Through experiential activities, experiential activities - vocational guidance, life skills education activities, and club activities, summer activities.
(3). For higher education
- Integrated into National Defense and Security education courses and extracurricular activities.
- Collaboration with functional units in fire prevention, fighting, and rescue to organize training, practical activities, and drills suitable to the contents of the educational programs of schools.
What are the teaching and practical equipment required for learners in fire prevention, fighting, and rescue courses in Vietnam?
Based on Clause 3, Article 7 of Circular 06/2022/TT-BGDDT, the teaching and practical equipment for learners in fire prevention, fighting, and rescue courses appropriate for each level of education and training are as follows:
(1) For preschool education institutions: Ensure sufficient teaching aids, toys, and teaching equipment (video clips, pictures, drawings, signs, warning signs, direction signs...) illustrating fire and explosion sources, heat sources, common incidents and accidents to organize educational activities on fire prevention, fighting, and rescue knowledge and skills.
(2) For general education institutions and continuing education centers: Allocate training areas in the gym (multi-functional house) or outdoors.
Equip model devices, firefighting practice equipment (portable fire extinguishers, hoses, fire blankets, sand, and similar equipment, gasoline trays, gas cylinders, gasoline, oil, protective helmets, gloves).
Equip basic rescue practice equipment (gas masks, wet cloths, bandages, gauze, splints, stretchers, and similar equipment).
(3) For universities, academies, colleges of education: Allocate training areas in the gym (multi-functional house) or outdoors.
Equip model devices or images of systems (automatic fire alarms, automatic or semi-automatic extinguishing systems, indoor and outdoor fire hydrants, indoor fire water supply, outdoor fire hydrants).
Equip firefighting tools (portable fire extinguishers, hoses, fire blankets, sand, and similar equipment; gasoline trays, gas cylinders, gasoline, oil, protective helmets, gloves).
Equip basic rescue tools (gas masks, wet cloths, bandages, gauze, splints, stretchers, and similar equipment).
(4) Prioritize the use of virtual reality technology for training and handling fire, explosion, and accident situations; use new technology experiment products for practical exercises related to easily flammable and explosive chemicals.
