The process of the August Revolution unfolded as follows: Immediately after Japan announced its unconditional surrender to the Allies, the Communist Party launched a general uprising nationwide:
- Seizing power in Hanoi:
+ On August 16, 1945, the Viet Minh organized speeches at three theaters in the city. On August 16, leaflets and banners calling for an uprising appeared everywhere.
+ On August 19, a rally at the Grand Theatre turned into a demonstration to seize government offices, leading to the successful uprising in Hanoi.
- Seizing power nationwide:
+ From August 14 to 18, the four provinces that seized power early were Bac Giang, Hai Duong, Ha Tinh, and Quang Nam.
+ On the afternoon of August 16, 1945, following the orders of the Uprising Committee, a liberation army led by Vo Nguyen Giap set out from Tan Trao (Tuyen Quang) to encircle and attack the Japanese in Thai Nguyen, paving the way to Hanoi.
+ On August 30, Emperor Bao Dai abdicated, marking the collapse of Vietnam's feudal policies.

What is the process of selecting history textbooks for Grade 9 like by the subject team in Vietnam?
The process of selecting history textbooks for Grade 9 in schools is regulated according to Article 7 of Circular 27/2023/TT-BGDDT. Specifically:
- Based on the plan of the Council and the criteria for selecting textbooks, the subject team leader develops a plan to organize the selection of textbooks for each subject included in the subject team structure, reporting to the head before implementation;
- Organize for all subject teachers of the educational institution (including tenured, contracted, seconded, guest, and inter-school teaching teachers) to participate in the selection of textbooks for that subject;
- No later than 20 days before the first meeting of the subject team, the subject team leader organizes for the subject teachers to study the textbooks, write evaluation comments, and assess the textbooks according to the criteria for selecting textbooks;
- The subject team leader organizes a meeting with the subject teachers to discuss, vote to choose one (1) textbook for that subject.
In cases where there is only one textbook for a subject approved by the Minister of Education and Training, the subject team will select the textbook based on the decision without voting.
The selected textbook must have at least 1/2 of the subject teachers voting.
If no textbook receives at least 1/2 of the subject teachers' votes, the subject team must discuss and vote again; the textbook selected is the one with the highest votes in the second round of voting.
In both rounds of voting, if two textbooks have the highest equal votes, the subject team leader will decide on one of the textbooks with the highest votes.
The minutes of the subject team meetings must record all comments, evaluations of the textbooks by participating teachers, signed by the subject team leader and the person assigned to record the minutes.
- The subject team leader compiles the results, creates a list of textbooks chosen by the subject team, signed by the subject team leader and the person assigned to create the textbook list.
