What is latest area measurement unit table for students in Vietnam?
The latest area measurement units table is as follows:
Larger than square meter | Square meter | Smaller than square meter | ||||
km² | hm² | dam² | m² | dm² | cm² | mm² |
1 km² = 100 hm² |
1 hm² = 100 dam² = 1/100 km² |
1 dam² = 100 m² = 1/100 hm² |
1 m² = 100 dm² = 1/100 dam² |
1 dm² = 100 cm² = 1/100 m² |
1 cm² = 100 mm² = 1/100 dm² |
1 mm² = 1/100 cm² |
How to read the area measurement units table:
Square millimeter (mm²): The smallest unit in the table, commonly used to measure the area of small objects.
Square centimeter (cm²): A common area measurement unit, used to measure the area of medium-sized objects.
Square decimeter (dm²): Less commonly used compared to cm² and m².
Square meter (m²): A large area measurement unit, often used to measure the area of rooms, plots of land, and stadiums.
Square kilometer (km²): The largest area measurement unit, typically used to measure the area of large geographic regions.
Note:
When converting between measurement units, you need to multiply or divide by the corresponding numbers in the table.
To convert larger units to smaller units, multiply. For example: To convert 2 m² to cm², perform the calculation: 2 x 100 x 100 = 20,000 cm².
To convert smaller units to larger units, divide. For example: To convert 50,000 cm² to m², perform the calculation: 50,000 / 100 / 100 = 5 m².

What are the 03 objectives of the grade 5 Math Education Program in Vietnam?
Based on Section 1 of the General Education Math Program issued with Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDDT, the three objectives of the grade 5 Math Education Program are:
(1) Contribute to forming and developing mathematical competence with the required achievements:
- Performing simple cognitive operations; posing and answering questions when reasoning and solving simple problems;
- Selecting arithmetic operations and formulas to present and express (verbally or in writing) content, ideas, solutions to problems;
- Using mathematical language combined with ordinary language and body gestures to express mathematical content in simple situations;
- Utilizing simple mathematical tools and means to perform simple math learning tasks.
(2) Possess initial, essential mathematical knowledge and skills about:
- Numbers and Operations: Natural numbers, fractions, decimals, and the operations on those number sets.
- Geometry and Measurement: Observing, recognizing, visually describing shapes and characteristics of some flat and solid figures in reality; creating some simple geometric models; calculating some geometric quantities; developing spatial imagination; solving some practical problems related to Geometry and Measurement (with common measurement units).
- Statistics and Probability: Some basic elements of statistics and probability; solving some simple practical problems associated with some elements of statistics and probability.
(3) Together with other subjects and educational activities such as Ethics, Natural and Social Studies, Experiential Activities… help students gain initial understanding of some professions in society.
