Formula:

Assume we have a triangle with sides of lengths a, b, and c. Let S be the area of that triangle. The Heron's Formula is written as follows:

S = √[p(p - a)(p - b)(p - c)]

a, b, c: The lengths of the three sides of the triangle.

p: The semi-perimeter of the triangle, calculated as: p = (a + b + c) / 2

Apply the formula: Substitute the values of a, b, c, and p into the above formula and compute.

Step 1: Calculate the semi-perimeter: p = (3 + 4 + 5) / 2 = 6 cm.

Step 2: Apply the formula: S = √[6(6 - 3)(6 - 4)(6 - 5)] = √[6 * 3 * 2 * 1] = √36 = 6 cm².

Thus, the area of the triangle is 6 cm².

What are regulations on the age of upper secodnary students in Vietnam?

Based on Article 28 of the Education Law 2019, the regulations concerning the age of primary, lower secondary, and upper secondary school students are as follows:

[1] School levels and the ages of primary, lower secondary, and upper secondary students (general education) are stipulated as follows:

- Primary education is conducted over 05 school years, from grade one to the end of grade five. The age for entering grade one is 06 years old and is calculated annually;

- Lower secondary education is conducted over 04 school years, from grade six to the end of grade nine. Students entering grade six must have completed the primary education program. The age for entering grade six is 11 years old and is calculated annually;

- Upper secondary education is conducted over 03 school years, from grade ten to the end of grade twelve. Students entering grade ten must have a lower secondary graduation certificate. The age for entering grade ten is 15 years old and is calculated annually.

[2] Cases where students study advanced classes, or are older than the age stipulated in section [1] include:

- Students advancing in classes in cases of early intellectual development;

- Students older than the stipulated age due to repeating years, students in areas with especially difficult socio-economic conditions, students from ethnic minorities, students with disabilities, students with underdeveloped physical or intellectual conditions, orphaned students without support, students from impoverished households, students returning from abroad, and other cases as prescribed by law.

[3] General education is divided into a basic education stage and an orientation stage for vocational education.

The basic education phase includes primary and lower secondary education; the vocational orientation phase is upper secondary education. Students in vocational education institutions shall study the volume of upper secondary school cultural knowledge.

What are the objectives of upper secondary education in Vietnam?

Based on Article 29 of the Education Law 2019:

Objectives of general education

1. General education aims to develop learners comprehensively in terms of ethics, intelligence, physical health, aesthetics, basic skills, develop personal capacities, dynamism, and creativity; to form the socio-socialist Vietnamese personality and civic responsibility; prepare learners to continue with higher education, vocational education, or participate in labor, to build and protect the Fatherland.

2. Primary education aims to establish the initial foundations for the development of ethics, intelligence, physical health, aesthetics, and capacities of the student; prepare students to continue their lower secondary education.

3. Lower secondary education aims to consolidate and develop the results of primary education; ensure students have a foundational general education, and the minimum necessary technical knowledge for vocational orientation to continue with upper secondary education or vocational education programs.

4. Upper secondary education aims to equip citizens with knowledge; ensure students consolidate, develop the results of lower secondary education, complete general education and have general technical understanding, vocational orientation; provide conditions to promote personal capacity to choose developmental directions, continue with higher education, vocational education, or join the workforce, building and protecting the Fatherland.

Thus, the objective of upper secondary education is to provide citizens with knowledge; ensure students consolidate, and develop the results of lower secondary education, complete general education, and have a common understanding of technical and vocational orientation;

Provide the conditions to enhance personal capabilities to choose development paths, continue with higher education, vocational education, or engage in labor, building, and protecting the Fatherland.
