- A national standard Preschool or preschool is one that meets and is recognized to meet national standards according to current regulations, including level 1 and level 2.

- Types:

+ Public schools are funded, guaranteed, and represented by the State as the owner;

+ People-founded schools are funded, constructed, and guaranteed by local community organizations and individuals in hamlets, villages, communes, etc.;

+ Private schools are invested and guaranteed by domestic or foreign investors.

What is the maximum number of children per class in a people-founded preschool in Vietnam?

A preschool is a educational institution that admits children aged 03 to 06 years.

The maximum number of children in a people-founded preschool class is regulated in sub-section 1.2, Section 1, Appendix 2 of the educational sector statistical content promulgated together with Circular 03/2024/TT-BGDDT.

The specific maximum number of children per preschool class is:

+ Preschool class for 3 to 4 years old: 25 children;

+ Preschool class for 4 to 5 years old: 30 children;

+ Preschool class for 5 to 6 years old: 35 children.

When a preschool class has 01 (one) child with a disability mainstreamed, the class size is reduced by 05 (five) children. Each preschool class should not have more than 02 (two) children with disabilities.

- If the number of children in each group or class is less than 50% of the maximum number, it is allowed to organize a mixed-age preschool class with no more than 30 children or a mixed-age preschool class with no more than 22 children.
