In a healthy educational environment, what are requirements for the educational institution's facilities in Vietnam?
Based on Article 3 of Decree 80/2017/ND-CP, the facilities of educational institutions in a healthy environment must meet the following requirements:
- The campus, school gate, school nameplate, walls, fences, gardens, and greenery must ensure safety, sanitation, and suitability to the landscape and friendly environment;
- There must be playgrounds, exercise fields, and parking areas that are appropriate and friendly to students;
- Teaching blocks, subject classrooms, and study facilities must ensure adequate lighting, ventilation, and appropriately designed furniture for students. There must be dining and resting areas for institutions providing semi-boarding and boarding services;
- There must be sanitary facilities, clean water, and other construction works that ensure safety, friendliness, accessibility, and suitability for the diverse needs of users.
What are the requirements for teaching materials and resources in a healthy educational environment in Vietnam?
Based on Article 4 of Decree 80/2017/ND-CP regarding the requirements for teaching materials and resources:
Requirements for Teaching Materials and Resources
- For educational institutions:
a) Teaching and learning materials and resources must be aligned with the objectives and content of the educational program; ensuring scientific integrity, pedagogy, humanity, and aesthetics; appropriate for the psychological characteristics of the learners; must not contain elements that incite violence or obscenity; must not contradict Vietnamese culture or history; free from gender bias and discrimination;
b) There must be materials and resources on moral education, lifestyle, life skills, legal awareness, gender education, accident prevention, and abuse prevention;
c) There must be an information technology system connected to the Internet and a website that meets the demands of teaching and learning; it should be strictly controlled to ensure safe and wholesome content suitable for the learners' age.
- For independent classes: Must at least meet the requirement stipulated in point a, clause 1 of this Article.
Thus, a healthy educational environment requires teaching materials and resources as follows:
- Teaching and learning materials and resources appropriate to the objectives and content of the educational program; ensuring scientific integrity, pedagogy, humanity, and aesthetics; appropriate for the psychological characteristics of the learners; free from elements that incite violence or obscenity; must not contradict Vietnamese culture or history; free from gender bias and discrimination;
- There must be materials and resources on moral education, lifestyle, life skills, legal awareness, gender education, accident prevention, and abuse prevention;
- There must be an information technology system connected to the Internet and a website that meets the requirements of teaching and learning; strictly controlled to ensure safe, wholesome content suitable for the learners' age.
What are regulations on activities to ensure a safe and healthy educational environment in Vietnam?
According to Article 5 of Decree 80/2017/ND-CP, activities to ensure a safe and healthy educational environment include:
- Ensuring public order; food safety; safety from accidents and injuries; safety, and prevention of fire and explosion; safety from disasters and natural calamities;
- Developing, publicizing, and strictly implementing a code of conduct within educational institutions with the participation of learners;
- Establishing communication channels such as feedback boxes, hotlines, and other forms to receive and handle learners' information; guaranteeing security for information providers;
- Organizing creative experience activities, life skills education activities, extracurricular activities, social, charitable activities, as well as safe, healthy, friendly, equal recreational and sports activities appropriate to the age, physiological, and psychological characteristics of the learners;
- Implementing school health care, counseling, and student assistance work;
- Regularly exchanging information with the learners' families and the community to ensure the safety of students' lives, bodies, dignity, honor, and the confidentiality of their private lives.
