NOMINATION AND SELECTION CRITERIA

1. Possess solid political qualities, have ethics and a simple, exemplary lifestyle; strictly comply with the policies, guidelines of the Vietnam Communist Party and the State laws, as well as the rules and regulations of the workplace and the locality of residence.

2. Have high responsibility in work and life, trusted by colleagues and students; take initiative, be creative and flexible in performing professional tasks, overcome difficulties to excellently complete the assigned duties.

3. Serve as a typical example, achieve outstanding and innovative accomplishments during the academic year, contributing to creating positive and effective changes within the unit, and have a widespread influence in the locality and the entire sector.

What is the nomination and selection process for the Outstanding Teacher title in Vietnam?

Based on Section 5 of the Regulations on Selecting the Outstanding Teacher of the Year issued together with Decision 4996/QD-BGDDT in 2021, the nomination and selection process for the outstanding teacher title is implemented as follows:

- For the Departments of Education and Training

Step 1: Based on the actual conditions of the locality to establish criteria, plans for selecting and nominating teachers, ensuring appropriateness for each educational level; organize the selection and nomination of teachers, ensuring democracy, objectivity, proper standards, and proper subjects.

Step 2: Publicize the nominated list on the Portal of the Department of Education and Training for 07 working days before sending the proposal to the Ministry of Education and Training.

- For higher education institutions and pedagogical colleges not under the Ministry of Education and Training

Step 1: Establish criteria, plans, and organize the selection and nomination of teachers who meet the standards from the affiliated units.

Step 2: Publicize the nominated list on the Portal of the unit for 07 working days before sending a report, proposal to the direct superior management agency for consideration, and then send the proposal to the Ministry of Education and Training.

- For units under the Ministry of Education and Training

Step 1: Establish criteria, plans, and organize the selection and nomination of teachers who meet the standards from the affiliated units.

Step 3: Publicize the nominated list on the Portal of the unit for 07 working days before sending the proposal to the Ministry of Education and Training.

Based on Section 6 of the Regulations on Selecting the Outstanding Teacher of the Year issued together with Decision 4996/QD-BGDDT in 2021, the dossier for nomination is specified as follows:

DOSSIER FOR NOMINATION

1. The nomination dossier includes:

a) Official Dispatch nominating from the relevant agencies, units;

b) Summary of achievements of each nominated individual, clearly stating specific actions and particularly outstanding achievements attained during the academic year with evidence (according to the attached form).

2. Submission deadline: Before August 30 every year. Recipient: Ministry of Education and Training (through the Department of Emulation - Commendation), 35 Dai Co Viet, Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi.

Thus, the dossier for the outstanding teacher title selection includes:

- Official Dispatch nominating from the relevant agencies, units;

- Summary of achievements of each nominated individual, clearly stating specific actions and particularly outstanding achievements attained during the academic year with evidence.
