Argument: The reasoning and evidence used to support the thesis.
Argumentation: The process of using arguments to prove the thesis.
Purpose of argumentative text:
Persuasion: To make the reader, listener believe in the writer's viewpoint.
Explanation: To clarify an issue or phenomenon.
Evaluation: To provide opinions and evaluations of an issue or phenomenon.
Structure of an argumentative essay typically includes 3 parts:
Introduction: Introduces the issue to be argued, presents the thesis.
