What are competencies of students in the Literacy Eradication Program in Vietnam?
Based on Section 2, Part 1 of the Literacy Eradication Program issued under Circular 33/2021/TT-BGDDT, the competencies of students in the Literacy Eradication Program in Vietnam include general competencies and specific competencies as follows:
- General competencies are formed and developed through subjects and study topics, including: self-management and self-study competency, communication and cooperation competency, problem-solving and creativity competency.
- Specific competencies include: language competency, calculation competency, scientific competency, technological and informatics competency, mainly formed and developed through subjects and study topics.

Based on Subsection 2, Section 2, Part 1 of the Literacy Eradication Program issued under Circular 33/2021/TT-BGDDT, the Literacy Eradication Program forms and develops core competencies for students, in which the requirements for general competencies are specified as follows:

Self-management and self-study | - Know how to actively and positively carry out self-responsibility tasks in study and life; do not rely on others. Understand personal rights and needs; distinguish between legitimate and illegitimate rights and needs. Know how to assert and protect personal rights and needs in accordance with ethics and law. - Always stay calm and behave appropriately. Determined to overcome challenges in study and life. Know how to avoid social evils. - Flexibly apply learned knowledge, skills, or existing experiences to solve problems in new situations. - Understand the role of economic activities in social life. Know some key information about local industries and major local production sectors. - Set personal learning goals to strive for; proactively seek assistance from others when facing difficulties in study, daily life, labor, and production. |

What are the requirements for specific competencies for students in the Literacy Eradication Program in Vietnam?
Based on Subsection 2, Section 2, Part 1 of the Literacy Eradication Program issued under Circular 33/2021/TT-BGDDT, the core competency requirements are specified as follows:
(1) Language Competency
The language competency of students includes the competency to use Vietnamese, demonstrated through activities: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
The requirements for language competency for students at each phase and term are specified in the Vietnamese subject program and the Vietnamese subject study topics.
(2) Calculation Competency
The calculation competency of students is primarily shown through mathematical competency; it is mainly developed in the Mathematics subject, focusing on the following activities: understanding mathematical knowledge, mathematical thinking, applying learned knowledge and skills.
The requirements for mathematical competency for students at each phase and term are specified in the Mathematics subject program and the Mathematics subject study topics.
(3) Scientific Competency
The scientific competency of students is demonstrated through the following activities: scientific understanding, exploring nature, exploring society, and applying learned knowledge and skills.
Scientific competency is formed and developed in subjects: Nature and Society, Science, History, and Geography.
The requirements for scientific competency for students at each phase and term are specified in the programs of subjects Nature and Society, Science, History, and Geography.
(4) Technological and Informatics Competency
The technological competency of students is demonstrated through the following activities: understanding technology, using technology.
The informatics competency of students is demonstrated through the following activities: using and managing information and communication technology tools, applying information and communication technology in study and self-learning.
