According to Section 6 of the Annex to the General Education Program issued with Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDDT, the education program for primary students advocates the following teaching methods:
School subjects and educational activities apply methods to activate student activities. Teachers play a role in organizing and guiding activities, creating a friendly learning environment and problem situations to encourage students to actively participate in learning activities, independently discover their abilities and aspirations, practice self-study habits, and develop potential and acquired knowledge and skills.
Student learning activities include problem exploration, practice activities, and application activities (applying what they have learned to identify and solve real-life problems) with the support of teaching tools, especially IT tools and automated systems.
These learning activities are organized inside and outside school premises through various forms: theory study; exercises, experiments, games, role-playing, research projects; seminars, field trips, camps, reading; group activities, community service activities.
Depending on the objective and nature of the activity, students work independently, in groups, or with the whole class, ensuring each student is provided the opportunity to undertake learning tasks and real-world experiences on their own.
