Một hôm, trời mưa lớn, nước trong giếng tràn ra ngoài. Con ếch nhân cơ hội này nhảy ra ngoài giếng. Khi đứng trên bờ, ếch ngước nhìn lên bầu trời. Ôi chao! Bầu trời mênh mông, rộng lớn làm sao! Những đám mây trắng trôi bồng bềnh, mặt trời chói lóa. Ếch mới nhận ra mình đã sai lầm khi nghĩ bầu trời chỉ nhỏ bằng cái vung.
Vừa lúc đó, có một con trâu đi qua. Thấy con ếch nhỏ bé, con trâu không để ý và dẫm phải. Thế là, con ếch kiêu ngạo ngày nào đã phải trả giá đắt cho sự hiểu biết hạn hẹp của mình.

What literary competence shall grade 4 students in Vietnam achieve?
Based on the Literature Education Program issued with Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDDT:
Literary Competence
Distinguish between narrative and poetic texts (prose sections, essays, and verse sections); recognize the content of the text and the writer's attitude and feelings; initially understand the effect of some formal elements of a literary text (words, characters, plot, verse, comparison, personification). Know how to relate, imagine, and express literary nature in writing and speaking.
For Grade 1 and Grade 2 students, they must recognize who and what the text is about; identify characters in stories, rhyme in poems; distinguish between stories and poems.
For Grade 3, Grade 4, and Grade 5 students, they must know how to read expressively literary texts; retell and summarize the main content of stories, poems; assess characters, events, and the writer's attitude and feelings in the text; recognize time and place, some types of rhyme, rhythm, beautiful and unique words and images, and the effect of rhetorical devices like personification, comparison. The must understand the meaning or lesson drawn from the text. They shall know how to write sections and essays recounting stories, describing with emotion and imaginative ability.
Thus, Grade 4 students should have following literary competence:
- Know how to read expressively literary texts; retell and summarize the main content of stories, poems.
- Assess characters, events, and the writer's attitude and feelings in the text; recognize the time and place, some types of rhyme, rhythm, beautiful and unique words and images, and the effect of rhetorical devices like personification, comparison.
- Understand the meaning or lesson drawn from the text. Write sections and essays recounting stories, describing with emotion and imaginative ability.
What are levels for the periodic assessment for grade 4 Vietnamese Langauge subject?
Based on point c, clause 1, Article 7 of the Regulations on assessing primary school students issued with Circular 27/2020/TT-BGDDT, it stipulates that the periodic assessment test must be appropriate with the required achievements and specific manifestations of the components of the subject's competence, including questions and exercises designed at levels as follows:
- Level 1: Recognize, recall, or describe the learned content and apply it directly to solve some familiar situations and problems in learning;
- Level 2: Connect, organize some learned content to solve similar problems;
- Level 3: Apply the learned content to solve some new problems or provide reasonable feedback in learning and life.
