Is cheating in academic activities permitted for grade 7 students in Vietnam?
Based on Clause 2, Article 37 of the Regulations for lower secondary schools, lower secondary schools, and multi-level schools issued with Circular 32/2020/TT-BGDDT, the following are prohibited acts for students:
Prohibited Acts for Students
- Insult the dignity, honor, infringe the body of teachers, staff, school employees, others, and fellow students.
- Cheating in learning, tests, examinations, and enrollment.
- Buying, selling, and using alcohol, cigarettes, narcotics, stimulants, firecrackers, and explosives.
- Using mobile phones and other devices during class hours that are not for learning purposes and without teacher's permission.
- Fighting, causing disorder, or security disturbances in schools and public places.
- Using or exchanging cultural products containing violent or obscene content; using toys or playing games harmful to one's healthy development.
- Students must not commit any other acts prohibited by law.
Thus, according to the above regulation, grade 7 students are prohibited from cheating in learning.
How are grade 7 students in Vietnam disciplined for cheating in learning?
According to Article 38 of the Regulations for lower secondary schools, lower secondary schools, and multi-level schools issued with Circular 32/2020/TT-BGDDT, grade 7 students will be disciplined as follows:
Commendation and Discipline
- Students achieving accomplishments in learning and training are commended by teachers, schools, and educational management levels in the following forms:
a) Commending in front of class or the entire school.
b) Commendation with student titles as regulated.
c) Issuing certificates, commendations, merit certificates if achieving outstanding results or exceptional progress in studying, emulation activities, in competitions and contests regulated and permitted by the Ministry of Education and Training.
d) Other forms of commendation.
- Students exhibiting shortcomings in learning and training are educated or disciplined using the following measures:
a) Reminding, direct support, and help to correct shortcomings.
b) Warning, notifying parents to coordinate in helping students correct shortcomings.
c) Temporary suspension of studies with conditions and implementing other educational measures as prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training.
From the above regulations, if Grade 7 students cheat in learning, they will be educated or disciplined using the following measures:
- Reminder, direct support, and help to correct shortcomings.
- Warning, notifying parents to coordinate in helping students correct shortcomings.
- Temporary suspension of studies with conditions and implementing other educational measures as prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training.
