According to the General Education Program for the Literature subject issued along with Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDDT, the duration for educational content is organized proactively by textbook authors and teachers based on the requirements to achieve in each grade and actual teaching. However, a reasonable balance must be ensured between the following components:
- Between knowledge acquisition and skill training (focus on practicing, applying skills).
- Between types of reading, writing, speaking, and listening texts (allocating more time for reading literary texts).
- Between reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills (allocating more time for developing reading skills); specifically, the time allocation for skills at each grade level is as follows:
