How many periodic assessments are there in grade 9 Literature per semester in Vietnam?
According to Article 6 of Circular 22/2021/TT-BGDDT:
Frequent Assessment
- Frequent assessments are conducted through: Q&A, written, presentations, practicals, experiments, and learning products.
- For each subject, each student is assessed multiple times, selecting some assessments appropriate for the teaching progress according to the education plan of the professional team, recording the assessment results in the student tracking and assessment book (for the class) to be used for evaluating the learning outcomes of the subject as stipulated in Clause 1, Article 9 of this Circular, as follows:
a) For subjects assessed by comments (excluding thematic clusters): each semester selects 02 (two) assessments.
b) For subjects assessed by a combination of comments and scores (excluding thematic clusters), select the number of frequent assessment scores (abbreviated as DDGtx) in each semester as follows:
- Subjects with 35 periods/year: 02 DDGtx.
- Subjects with more than 35 periods/year to 70 periods/year: 03 DDGtx.
- Subjects with more than 70 periods/year: 04 DDGtx.
....
As such, since Grade 9 Language Arts has over 70 periods/year, there will be 4 frequent assessments.
What are requirements for assessing grade 9 students in Vietnam?
According to Article 4 of Circular 22/2021/TT-BGDDT, the requirements for assessing grade 9 students are as follows:
- Assess based on the required achievements stipulated in the General Education Program.
- Assess ensuring accuracy, comprehensiveness, fairness, truthfulness, and objectivity.
- Assess using various methods, forms, techniques, and tools; combining frequent assessment and periodic assessment.
- Assess for the progress of students; emphasize encouragement and motivation in students' training and learning; avoid comparing students with one another.
