What are regulations on classification of grade 6 students' academic results in Vietnam?
According to Clause 2, Article 9 of Circular 22/2021/TT-BGDDT regulating the categorization of the learning results of grade 6 students into 4 types:
- Good Level:
+ All subjects evaluated by comments are rated as Achieved.
+ All subjects evaluated by comments combined with scores have a term average score (ĐTBmhk, ĐTBmcn) of 6.5 points or above, in which at least 06 subjects have a term average score (ĐTBmhk, ĐTBmcn) of 8.0 points or above.
- Fair Level:
+ All subjects evaluated by comments are rated as Achieved.
+ All subjects evaluated by comments combined with scores have a term average score (ĐTBmhk, ĐTBmcn) of 5.0 points or above, in which at least 06 subjects have a term average score (ĐTBmhk, ĐTBmcn) of 6.5 points or above.
- Pass Level:
+ At most 01 (one) subject evaluated by comments is rated as Not Achieved.
+ At least 06 (six) subjects evaluated by comments combined with scores have a term average score (ĐTBmhk, ĐTBmcn) of 5.0 points or above; no subject has a term average score (ĐTBmhk, ĐTBmcn) below 3.5 points.
- Not Achieved Level: The remaining cases.
Is the periodic assessment of grade 6 students in Vietnam conducted with the clustered study subjects?
According to Article 7 of Circular 22/2021/TT-BGDDT regulating the form of periodic assessment for lower secondary school students:
- Periodic assessment (not applicable for clustered study subjects), includes mid-term and end-term assessments, conducted through: tests (on paper or computer), practical exercises, and project-based assignments.
+ The test time (on paper or computer) for a subject (excluding clustered study subjects) with up to 70 periods per academic year is 45 minutes, for a subject (excluding clustered study subjects) with over 70 periods per academic year from 60 to 90 minutes; for specialized subjects, a maximum of 120 minutes.
+ For tests (on paper or computer) assessed by score, the test must be constructed based on the matrix and specifications, meeting the subject's requirements as stipulated in the General Education Program.
+ For tests (on paper or computer) assessed by comments, practical exercises, and project-based assignments, there must be guiding instructions and assessment criteria according to the subject's requirements regulated in the General Education Program before implementation.
- In each semester, each subject evaluated by comments has 01 (one) mid-term evaluation and 01 (one) end-term evaluation.
- In each semester, each subject evaluated by comments combined with scores has 01 (one) mid-term evaluation score (hereinafter abbreviated as ĐĐGgk) and 01 (one) end-term evaluation score (hereinafter abbreviated as ĐĐGck).
- Students who do not participate in assessments the required number of times due to force majeure reasons are allowed to be assessed subsequently with requirements equivalent to the missing assessments. The compensatory assessments are conducted each semester.
- Students who do not participate in the compensatory assessments are rated as Not Achieved or received 0 (zero) points for the missing assessments.
Thus, according to the above regulation, the periodic assessment of grade 6 students will not be conducted for clustered study subjects.
