What are formulas for calculating the area of a triangle?

A triangle is a basic geometric shape in Mathematics. A triangle consists of 3 sides and 3 angles, formed by connecting three non-collinear points.

Depending on the classification of the triangle, various formulas can be applied to calculate its area. Below is a compilation of 5 detailed triangle area formulas:

Formula 1: Calculate the area of a regular triangle ABC:

A regular triangle is a triangle with sides of different lengths and angles all measuring differently.

The formula for calculating the area of a regular triangle ABC is as follows:

S(ABC) = 1/2 x h x a

Where: a is the length of any side;

h is the height dropped from the top vertex of the triangle to side a.

Formula 2: Calculate the area of a right triangle ABC:

A right triangle is a triangle with one right angle.

The formula for calculating the area of a right triangle is as follows:

S(ABC) = 1/2 x (a x b)

Where: a, b are the lengths of the two legs.

Formula 3: Calculate the area of an isosceles right triangle ABC:

An isosceles right triangle is a right triangle with the two legs of equal length.

The formula for calculating the area of an isosceles right triangle is as follows:

S(ABC) = 1/2 x a^2

Where: a is the length of the two equal legs.

Formula 4: Calculate the area of an isosceles triangle ABC:

An isosceles triangle is a triangle with two equal sides.

The formula for calculating the area of an isosceles triangle is as follows:

S(ABC) = 1/2 x h x a

Where: a is the length of the base side that is different from the two equal sides (BC);

h is the height from the vertex opposite this base side.

Formula 5: Calculate the area of an equilateral triangle ABC:

An equilateral triangle is a triangle with all three sides equal.

The formula for calculating the area of an equilateral triangle is as follows:

S(ABC) = 1/2 x h x a

Where: a is the length of any side;

h is any height (in an equilateral triangle, the heights are equal for all sides).

What are basic requirements for the teaching method of Mathematics in Vietnam?

Based on Section VI of the General Education Program for Mathematics, issued with Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDDT, the basic requirements for the teaching method of Mathematics in Vietnam are as follows:

- Align with students' cognitive development (from concrete to abstract, from easy to difficult); not only focusing on the logical nature of mathematics but also on approaches based on students' experience and practical experience;

- Emphasize the learner-centered approach, encouraging students' active participation, awareness, and attention to individual needs and cognitive abilities; organize teaching in a constructivist approach where students participate in exploration, discovery, reasoning, and problem-solving;

- Be flexible in applying active teaching methods and techniques; creatively combine traditional and modern teaching techniques; integrate classroom activities with practical experiences, applying mathematical knowledge in reality. Ensure a balanced and harmonious structure of the lesson between core knowledge, applied knowledge, and other components.

- Use sufficient and effective teaching aids and devices as per the mathematics curriculum requirements; employ self-made teaching materials that suit the learning content and student demographics; enhance the use of information technology and modern teaching tools effectively and appropriately.

What is the minimum teaching equipment for Mathematics in Vietnam?

According to Section VIII of the General Education Program for Mathematics, issued with Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDDT, the following minimum teaching equipment are required to ensure adequate quantity and variety for the subject of Mathematics:

- Primary level:

+ Numbers and Arithmetic includes teaching equipment sets for Natural Numbers and operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) with natural numbers; Fractions and operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) with fractions; Decimals and Decimal operations; Percentage ratios.

+ Geometry and Measurement includes teaching tools for recognizing, describing shapes and features of certain plane figures and solids; practice of measuring, drawing, assembling, creating shapes (corresponding to each grade level’s program); practice of weighing, measuring, counting, timekeeping, buying, and selling.

+ Elements of Statistics and Probability includes teaching tools for reading, describing, and representing data in charts and statistical graphs; familiarization with event likelihood.

- Lower secondary level:

+ Numbers and Algebra includes teaching equipment for Integers and Operations with integers; Percentage ratios; Functions and graphs.

+ Geometry and Measurement includes teaching tools for recognizing, describing shapes and features of certain plane figures and solids; practical measurement, drawing, and creation related to learned plane figures and solids.

+ Elements of Statistics and Probability includes teaching equipment for Statistics and Probability.

- Upper secondary level:

+ Algebra and Elements of Analysis includes teaching tools for Functions and graphs.

+ Geometry and Measurement includes teaching tools for recognizing, describing shapes and features of pyramids, prisms, cones, spheres, cylinders, and conic sections.

+ Statistics and Probability includes teaching equipment for Statistics and Probability.
