Pursuant to Section 3 of the Continuous Professional Development Program for Preschool Teachers issued together with Circular 12/2019/TT-BGDDT by the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam:

Training program content

1. The content of the training program updates knowledge and skills for implementing tasks in preschool education for the academic year nationwide (referred to as training program content 01):

The Ministry of Education and Training shall specify each academic year the training content on the orientation, policies for developing preschool education, preschool education programs, and educational activities under the preschool education program.

2. The content of the training program updates knowledge and skills for implementing tasks in developing preschool education according to each period of each locality (referred to as training program content 02):

The Department of Education and Training shall specify each academic year the training content on the development of preschool education in the locality, implementing the preschool education program, local education programs; coordinating with projects to implement regular training plans (if any).

The content of the training program for developing professional capacity to meet job position requirements, specialized knowledge, and skills (referred to as training program content 03):

Preschool teachers shall choose training modules to develop professional capacity to meet job position requirements, specialized knowledge, and skills, with the number of selected modules annually carried out as regulated in Section 2 of Chapter IV of this program. The training modules include the following:

How long is the training duration for the continuous professional development program for preschool teachers?

Pursuant to Section 4 of the Continuous Professional Development Program for Preschool Teachers issued together with Circular 12/2019/TT-BGDDT, the training duration for the continuous professional development program for preschool teachers is as follows:

Guidance on implementation

Training duration:

- Each teacher implements the Continuous Professional Development Program with a duration of 120 hours per academic year, including:

+ Development Program Content 01: Approximately 1 week per academic year (about 40 hours per academic year);

+ Development Program Content 02: Approximately 1 week per academic year (about 40 hours per academic year);

+ Development Program Content 03: 1 week per academic year (40 hours per academic year);

- Based on local requirements and educational plans in each academic year, educational management levels can adjust the durations of development program content 01 and development program content 02 but must not change the mandatory duration of the continuous professional development program within the academic year for each preschool teacher (ensuring 120 hours per academic year);

- Based on the content of development program content 03, teachers select necessary modules for professional development suitable to their personal needs each year while ensuring the regulated duration.
