According to Section 3 of the Regular Retraining Program for teachers at general education institutions issued together with Circular 17/2019/TT-BGDDT, the Module 3 - Development of personal professionalism is specified as follows:
(1) Retraining module name: development of personal professionalism, as required by the development of personal professionalism Standards.
(2) Retraining module code: GVPT 03
(3) Main contents of the module:
- The importance of development of personal professionalism.
- Formulation of a retraining plan for development of personal professionalism.
- Updating of requirements for innovation to enhance personal professional competence for teachers at general education institutions.
(4) Implementation time: 40 teaching lessons (16 theory lessons, 24 practical lessons)
(5) Required outcomes:
- Analyze the importance of development of personal professionalism for teachers at general education institutions; formulate a retraining plan to enhance personal professional competence for teachers at general education institutions;
- Apply updated content requirements for innovation to enhance personal professional competence in teaching and education activities for teachers at general education institutions, suitable for teachers of each grade, region, and area.
(Requirements for implementation of the general education program; Innovation in professional activities; Applied pedagogical scientific research; Selection and use of teaching materials; development of personal professionalism of teachers in general education institutions through connectivity, knowledge sharing in the learning community;...);

The Regular Retraining Program for teachers in general education institutions is applicable to teachers currently teaching in primary schools, lower secondary schools, upper secondary schools, schools with multiple educational levels, specialized schools, boarding and semi-boarding ethnic secondary schools (hereinafter referred to as general education institutions).

The Regular Retraining Program for teachers in general education institution includes retraining according to job position requirements; mandatory yearly professional knowledge and skills retraining, including:
1. The retraining program updates professional knowledge and skills to meet the requirements of the school year tasks for levels of general education (referred to as retraining Program 01): The Ministry of Education and retraining specifies the yearly retraining contents on the policies for developing general education, general education programs, and the contents of the subjects and educational activities in the general education program.

The retraining program to develop professional competence according to job position requirements (referred to as retraining Program 03): teachers in general education institution can choose retraining modules to develop professional qualities and competencies that meet job position requirements.
