What are the 22 fields of the national science and technology research competition for secondary and high school students?

What are the requirements for competitionants in the National Scientific and Engineering Research Competition for lower and upper secondary school students in Vietnam?

Under Article 5 of the Regulation issued together with Circular 06/2024/TT-BGDĐT, the requirements for competitionants in the National Scientific and Engineering Research Competition for lower and upper secondary school students in Vietnam are as follows:

- Be students in grades 8, 9, 10, 11, 12;

- Voluntarily participate and are selected for the competition team of the competition unit;

- Have good academic and behavior records in the first semester (if the Competition is organized in the second semester) or in the previous school year (if the Competition is organized in the first semester), achieving at least a good standing;

- Each competitionant can only participate in one (1) project in one (1) competition cycle.

How do educational institutions approve and select projects to be sent to attend the National Scientific and Engineering Research Competition in Vietnam?

According to Article 12 of the Regulations issued together with Circular 06/2024/TT-BGDĐT, educational institutions approve and select projects to participate in the National Scientific and Engineering Research Competition as follows:

- The educational institution publicly announces the objectives, content, requirements, and evaluation criteria for projects and the competition organization form to guide, discover, and tutor students in selecting research topics and developing research plans;

- Teachers and staff who have guided students in developing research plans report to the subject team for the subject team to report to the principal or director (hereinafter referred to as the head) of the educational institution for consideration and approval;

- The head of the educational institution approves the research plan and research advisors based on the recommendation of the subject team; directs the subject team to monitor and support the student's research process according to the approved research plan;

- The educational institution organizes the evaluation of student projects; and selects the projects from the educational institution to send to the competition unit for evaluation and selection according to the guidance of the competition unit.
