Sample descriptive essay about a favorite animal:

My family has a cat named Mun. Mun is a domestic cat, now one year old. I adore Mun for being so lovable and playful.

Mun has a small and slender physique. Mun's fur is jet black, as smooth as velvet. I love stroking Mun's fur because it's so soft and warm. Mun's head is round, with small ears always perked up listening. Mun's eyes are big, round, orange-yellow, sparkling like marbles. Mun's nose is tiny, pink and cute. Mun has long, white whiskers, curled amusingly.

Mun moves silently and gracefully. Mun loves eating rice mixed with fish and cat food pellets. After eating, Mun licks its fur clean. Mun sleeps a lot, often curling up in a basket lined with soft towels. Mun enjoys playing with yarn balls and toy mice. Mun runs and jumps quickly and nimbly. Mun's also fond of catching mice; whenever it catches one, Mun proudly "meows" to show me.

Mun is gentle and affectionate. Whenever I come home from school, Mun runs to greet me, nuzzles my legs and "meows" happily. When I'm sad, Mun cuddles up to me, licking my hand to comfort me. I dearly love Mun and will take good care of him.
