- Use English as a communication tool through four skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing to meet basic and practical communication needs on familiar topics related to school, leisure, entertainment, career, ...
- Continue to form and develop basic knowledge of English, including pronunciation, vocabulary, and grammar; gain a deeper understanding of the countries, people, and cultures of English-speaking countries and others around the world through English; appreciate the diversity of cultures, and initially reflect the values of Vietnamese culture in English.
- Use English to improve learning quality in other subjects within the general education program.
- Use English to pursue higher educational goals or be able to work immediately after completing high school.
- Apply various learning methods to manage study time, utilize information technology in learning and self-learning, consolidate self-study methods, self-assess, and take responsibility for learning outcomes, fostering lifelong learning habits.

- After completing the English curricula at the upper secondary education level, students can achieve English Level 3 of the 6-level Foreign Language Competency Framework for Vietnam. To be specific:
+ Be able to understand the main points of a standard speech or text on familiar subjects in work, school, leisure, etc.
+ Be able to handle most situations encountered in the environments where the language is used.
+ Be able to write simple texts related to familiar topics or personal interest. Can describe experiences, events, dreams, hopes, ambitions, and can briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans".
- Through English, students gain a broader understanding of the countries, people, and cultures of English-speaking countries and others worldwide; appreciate and respect cultural diversity, and initially reflect the values of Vietnamese culture in English; develop qualities of patriotism, honesty, kindness, and responsibility towards the environment and community.
