Handling of candidates gained admission to university who do not confirm enrollment in Vietnam
Based on Article 21 of the Regulation issued together with Circular 08/2022/TT-BGDDT on notification of results and enrollment confirmation, the following are the procedures:
- The educational institution sends an admission notice to admitted candidates, specifying the necessary procedures for enrollment and the method of enrollment.
- Candidates confirm enrollment online on the system before enrolling at the educational institution.
- For candidates who do not confirm enrollment within the stipulated time:
+ If there is no valid reason, it is considered that the candidate has declined the admission and the educational institution has the right not to accept;
+ If due to sickness, accidents, with hospital certification from district level or above, or due to natural disaster with certification from the People's Committee of district level or above, the educational institution will consider accepting the candidate for enrollment later or reserve the admission result for the candidate to enroll later;
+ If due to mistakes or confusion caused by the admissions officials or the candidate, the educational institution should actively cooperate with individuals and related organizations to review the evidence and decide on accepting the candidate for enrollment or reserving the admission result for later enrollment.
- Candidates who have confirmed enrollment at an educational institution will not be allowed to participate in admissions at other institutions or in subsequent admission rounds unless permitted by the educational institution.
Thus, according to the above regulation, the resolution for university-admitted candidates who do not confirm enrollment is as follows:
Step 1: Examine the reason for not confirming enrollment.
+ If there is no valid reason, it is considered that the candidate has declined the admission and the educational institution has the right not to accept;
+ If due to sickness, accidents, with hospital certification from district level or above, or due to natural disaster with certification from the People's Committee of district level or above;
+ If due to mistakes or confusion caused by the admissions officials or the candidate, the educational institution should actively cooperate with individuals and related organizations to review the evidence.
Step 2: The educational institution reviews the reason, if valid, will proceed to accept the candidate for enrollment or reserve the result for the next academic year.
