According to Section 7 of the General Education Program in Geography issued with Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDDT, the general orientations to education methods for Geography in Vietnam are outlined as follows:
- Assessment of educational results in Geography aims to provide accurate, prompt, and valuable information on the extent to which program requirements are met and students' progress to guide learning activities.
- Assessment of students' educational results will be conducted based on the qualities and capacities required, as specified in the overall program and the Geography curriculum.
- Regarding content assessment, apart from knowledge assessment, it is necessary to enhance the assessment of students' skills, such as working with maps, atlases, charts, diagrams, tables of data, images, observation, collecting, processing, and systematizing information, using outdoor learning tools, and utilizing technology and information communication in learning. Emphasis on assessment of the ability to apply knowledge to specific situations; diversify assessment forms and increase regular assessments for all students in different forms. Combine teacher assessments with self-assessment and peer assessment among students.
