According to the Regulations of the Reading Culture Ambassador Contest 2024 issued with Official Dispatch 1173/BVHTTDL-TV in 2024 Download, the objectives of the Reading Culture Ambassador Contest 2024 are as follows:

- The Reading Culture Ambassador Contest 2024 is a key activity, meaningfully contributing to the continued implementation of the Scheme to develop the reading culture in the community by 2020, with a vision to 2030, phase 2021-2025.

- Through the contest, continue to affirm the important role and good values of reading culture in enhancing the information and knowledge access capacity of Vietnamese people, especially in developing thinking, creativity, and awakening ambition, aspiration, and determination to develop a prosperous, happy nation in the young generation.

- Ignite a passion for reading in the younger generation; exchange and share experiences of reading and developing reading culture, thereby encouraging and promoting a reading movement in schools and the community, forming habits, and improving reading skills for students.

When will the Reading Culture Ambassador Contest 2024 in Vietnam be held?

According to the Regulations of the Reading Culture Ambassador Contest 2024 issued with Official Dispatch 1173/BVHTTDL-TV in 2024 Download, the timeline of the Reading Culture Ambassador Contest 2024 is as follows:

(1) Preliminary Round

- Time: From April to June 2024.

- The Preliminary Round is held by Ministries, provinces/municipalities, schools/institutes, and the Vietnam Blind Association.

- Contestants submit their submissions, fully filled out (form provided), to the address specified by the Organizing Committee of the Preliminary Round of the Ministry of National Defense, provinces/municipalities, Vietnam Blind Association, universities/institutes.

- The Organizing Committee of the Preliminary Round of the Reading Culture Ambassador 2024 selects submissions from winners and sends them to participate in the Final Round, with a maximum number as follows:

+ Ministry of National Defense: 10 submissions;

+ Each province/city: 06 submissions;

+ Vietnam Blind Association: 05 submissions;

+ Each university/institute: 03 submissions.

- Address to receive submissions: Library Department, Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, 51 Ngo Quyen, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi.

(2) Final Round:

- Time: From July to October 2024.

- The Final Round is held by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism.

- The Final Round Organizing Committee receives the winning submissions from the Preliminary Round; based on the contest implementation results at agencies, units, and localities, performs the following:

+ Evaluate the Final Round submissions to decide awards according to the award structure provided in section 2, part V of these regulations.

+ Organize a voting event for the most popular Final Round Video: Videos are uploaded and voted on from 9 a.m. on September 9, 2024, to 9 a.m. on September 19, 2024, on the YouTube Channel "Books and Vietnamese Wisdom" (managed by the Library Department, Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism). The voting method is as follows:

- Step 1: Access and register (Subscribe) to the "Books and Vietnamese Wisdom" Channel at: bit.ly/sachvatritueviet.

- Step 2: Vote by viewing and clicking Like for the publicly posted contest videos in the “Reading Culture Ambassador Contest 2024” Category.

Users must complete both steps to have their votes counted validly. The voting points calculation is as follows:

01 View = 02 points

01 Like = 01 point

The total voting score for each Video is the total of View points + Like points.

Note: The voting result does not affect the final evaluation result of the contest videos.

Thus, the Reading Culture Ambassador Contest takes place from April to June 2024 (for the preliminary round) and from July to October 2024 (for the final round).
