The lesson norm for teachers at schools or classes for disabled or handicapped persons is 21 lessons for teachers at the primary level, 17 lessons for teachers at the lower secondary level.

- The working period for primary school teachers during the school year is 42 weeks, including:

+ 35 weeks for teaching and educational activities according to the school year calendar regulations.

+ 05 weeks for study and training to improve their qualifications.

+ 01 week for preparing for the new school year.

+ 01 week for summing up the school year.

- The working period for lower secondary and upper secondary school teachers during the school year is 42 weeks, including:

+ 37 weeks for teaching and educational activities according to the school year calendar regulations.

+ 03 weeks for study and training to improve their qualifications.

+ 01 week for preparing for the new school year.

+ 01 week for summing up the school year.

- The annual rest for teachers includes summer breaks, Lunar New Year breaks, semester breaks, and other holidays. To be specific:

+ The annual summer break for teachers is 02 months (including annual rest according to the Labor Code), with full pay and allowances (if any).

+ The Lunar New Year break and semester break are according to the Minister of Education and Training's regulations.

+ Other holidays follow the Labor Code regulations.

In addition, based on the school year plan, scale, characteristics, and specific conditions of each school, the principal arranges annual rest for teachers reasonably according to conformity.

What are the duties and rights of teachers at semi-boarding ethnic minority schools in Vietnam?

According to Article 12 of the Organizational and Operational Regulations for Semi-Boarding Ethnic Minority Schools issued with Circular 03/2023/TT-BGDDT, the duties and rights of teachers at semi-boarding ethnic minority schools are as follows:

- Learn and understand the customs, traditions, and psychological characteristics of local ethnic minority students.

- Apply teaching methods suitable for the student audience; participate in managing, educating, nurturing, and caring for semi-boarding students; organize and implement specific educational content in schools.

- Be trained to enhance knowledge of ethnic minority cultures, minority languages, management, education, nurturing, and caring for semi-boarding students, and organize specific educational content in schools, and enjoy preferential policies according to state regulations.
