Support of 1.2 million VND when Ho Chi Minh City teachers participate in regular training
On August 7, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training issued Plan 4818/KH-SGDDT in 2024 on regular training for management staff and teachers in preschools, general schools, secondary schools, and continuing education for the academic year 2024-2025.
In Section 6 of Plan 4818/KH-SGDDT in 2024:
FUNDING FOR REGULAR TRAINING
Regular training funding: 1,200,000 VND per participant.
Funding source: The regular training fund is projected in the annual regular expenditure of the unit, from the support funds of programs, projects, or from other sources according to the provisions of the law (if any) as stipulated in Circular No. 19/2019/TT-BGDDT.
Teachers in Ho Chi Minh City are provided with 1.2 million VND when participating in regular training according to the plan of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training.

What are the methods and types of organization for regular teacher training in Vietnam?
According to Article 6 of the Regulation on regular training for teachers, management staff of preschool educational institutions, general education institutions, and continuing education teachers (Regulation), issued together with Circular 19/2019/TT-BGDDT, the methods and types of organization for regular teacher training are as follows:
(1). Implement training using active methods, enhancing self-study, promoting the positive, proactive, and creative thinking of teachers; increasing practice at preschools, general education institutions, and continuing education centers; discussion, exchange, sharing of information, knowledge, and experience between reporters and teachers and management staff, between teachers and teachers.
(2). Types of regular training organization:
- Concentrated: Conduct concentrated training; guide teachers to self-study, practice, systematize knowledge, answer questions, guide the contents of regular training to meet the needs of teachers in regular training study; create opportunities for teachers to exchange, share, discuss professional expertise, and practice skills.
The duration and number of teachers participating in concentrated training are implemented according to the management decentralization but must ensure requirements on purposes, required achievements, content, methods, training duration stipulated in the regular training program and regulations issued together with Circular 19/2019/TT-BGDDT.
- Distance: Conduct distance training, enhancing the application of information technology in training activities, online training for teachers ensuring requirements on purposes, required achievements, content, methods, training duration stipulated in the regular training program and regulations issued together with Circular 19/2019/TT-BGDDT;
- Semi-concentrated: Combine concentrated and distance training organizations to ensure the effectiveness and requirements of regular training for teachers.
What are the 03 current regular training programs for teachers at general education institutions in Vietnam?
According to Section 4 of the regular training program for teachers at general education institutions issued together with Circular 17/2019/TT-BGDDT:
PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION GUIDELINES
1. The implementation of the regular training program for teachers at general education institutions includes 03 training programs stipulated in section III of this Program.
2. Training duration:
a) Each teacher at general education institutions implements the regular training program ensuring the specific duration as follows:
- Training Program 01: About 01 week per academic year (about 40 periods per academic year);
- Training Program 02: About 01 week per academic year (about 40 periods per academic year);

Contents of the training program
The regular training program for teachers at general education institutions is a training form according to job position requirements; training in specialized knowledge and skills mandatory annually, including:
1. The training program updating specialized knowledge and skills to meet the requirements of implementing the academic year's tasks for all levels of the general education system (referred to as Training Program 01): The Ministry of Education and Training stipulates specific training contents each academic year about the policies and guidelines for developing the general education system, general education program, content of subjects, and educational activities within the general education program.
2. The training program updating specialized knowledge and skills to meet the requirements of developing the general education system according to the period of each locality (referred to as Training Program 02): The Department of Education and Training stipulates specific training contents each academic year about the development of local general education, implementation of the general education program, local education program; cooperate with projects to implement the regular training plan (if any).
3. The training program for developing professional competencies according to job position requirements (referred to as Training Program 03): Teachers at general education institutions choose modules for training to develop professional qualities and competencies to meet job position requirements.
